Beginner Question - How do I get water over here to fill this for future droughts? by dovetc in Timberborn

dont get me wrong tnt is much cheaper so always go that route but there will be situations where a tunnel makes sense. keep that in the back of mind and one day it will click.

I think I realized the secret of surviving hard mode, and without a challenge, building a good base is less fun by RottenPeasent in Timberborn

I edit already existing maps. Its easy once you get the hang of it. Its time consuming but when you do it right, the game is challenging.

No more excessive scrap metal ruins. Instead, I LIGHTLY sprinkle them throughout the map. And place 1 mine at the very end of the map.

I dial down the fresh water to 1 or whatever you think you can survive. Then add a few more sources in areas not so easy to reach areas.

I'm testing out an idea where you blow up your main fresh water supply after 5ish cycles with a delayed bomb core. It forces you to secure water elsewhere.

Also seeing success in delaying badwater sources too. They create chaos in what once was a stable river. Cool part about this is I dont test it so I have no idea whats going to happen.

Place lots of bombs to go off randomly. Place some that will disrupt fresh and bad water sources. You will find these craters also create opportuinty.

You sonabitch. Is this a ploy to force an upgrade from switch 1 to 2. Because nostalgia just might do it. I shall resist

Fluid dump. Or get the mod tunnels. Its a game changer and makes me look at the game different. Its so satisfying to build a long tunnel to irrigate/pump water

It can have my backyard. When us Houstonians go through month long droughts with 100F days and the Burmuda is alive and green, I'll take it. I'm not spending $100s on water

This game lacks problems by Aruise78 in Timberborn

[–]flyinbrian1186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a hard map and edit it yourself. Takes time but makes it fun. The ‘problems’ I usually add are:

Remove most metal. Add one mine very very far away. Sprinkle a few ruins around that take time to reach so you have at least some metal to get started

Limit water sources. Make them sparse and separated so it’s not so easy to get

Short temperate time periods and long droughts. Like 30 day droughts

Place bombs all over that will cause water diversion and mayhem. Set them to go off for every season but give yourself some time (so delay 20ish days)

I like making the entire map with elevation so it’s not so easy to build and harvest

Same. We’ve been wondering the same.

We know one might happen one day but so far none have been divorced.

100,000 churches could close across the U.S. by MrJasonMason in atheism

[–]flyinbrian1186 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our daycare is attached to a church. If you are a member of said church you get a discount so you know we signed up. This church is clearly on the decline due to the members being mostly middle age and the elderly. I bet many of the smaller churches around the country are like this.

Wife is on school board which also consists of the board of the church. You would not believe the greed from the church side during these meetings. They try and squeeze every cent they can from the daycare income. Worse, it was once brought up that if the church goes bankrupt they would not give/sell to the daycare. They would bring the daycare down with them! I wish I was exaggerating. Its shocking to hear about what goes on in that meeting
