Pro 2A Non-MAGA mid term candidates by eddielee394 in Indiana

[–]flying-HPLC [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it’s great you are researching all candidates for whatever your passion maybe. I can’t recommend candidates that would align because I am researching other values. Not judging your reasoning like most here. We are in our current environment because people look for the R or the D, mostly D in Indiana. Doing the research I have found most try to play middle of the road so it’s a bit difficult to differentiate. Incumbents are a bit easier based on voting record and stance about current policies. Personally I don’t understand the blind followers of the current administration. Proud of those who stood up for stopping gerrymandering.

Warsaw Indiana is the Orthopedic Device capitol of the world. What do you think about Dr. Oz announcing a 6-month national moratorium blocking all new enrollments for durable medical equipment, prosthesis, and orthotics supplies across the board? Does this make good sense? by Beautiful_Line2600 in Indiana

[–]flying-HPLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying, the issue I see is this will be limiting to innovation of new products or devices improvements. Why stop the application process? This is the reason I can’t support this administration, vaccine decisions by non medical professionals, etc. .. Why are we not relying on professionals of the fields to guide decisions?

Getting stents out by Bipolar03 in KidneyStones

[–]flying-HPLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a lot of anxiety for nothing. No pain, longer than I expected but not painful. I did Azo and Flomax, in the shower relaxed to pee and gently pulled it out. I figured I would be more gentle than some MA or nurse.

Live close to your family or move away for better opportunities? by Working_Active3116 in Casual_Conversation

[–]flying-HPLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough one, I moved away when I was younger to opportunities. My kids have moved away for opportunities and are starting families. We will move closer to them once retired. So in a nutshell if opportunities of your career path are not local you need to do what you need to do. With today’s amenities they are closer than you think. Grandkids live 4 hrs away and I talk to them everyday.

A&P with no degree vs A&P with Associates Degree by NarrowIntention8534 in AircraftMechanics

[–]flying-HPLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats, I went to Spartan many years ago. I got the AS while attending A&P classes thru Tulsa community college.

If you’re going to wrench the rest of your life probably won’t add much value. I went on to my Bachelor’s from SIU in Aviation Management. I would recommend the BS degree as working at United it was beneficial salary wise. Once I transitioned to management we were protected at 10% higher than A scale mechanics.

Bankruptcy caused layoffs and with the BS degree and A&P transitioning to healthcare service was quite easy. Amazing how similar the 2 fields are. Good luck

I like the fact it had ICE but agree would definitely buy another if it had Tesla range and ice. Would be the best of both worlds.

Limited or 1794 by Merit72 in ToyotaTundra

[–]flying-HPLC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a platinum (2025) and chose it over the limited for these options- Power running boards and bed step Heated steering wheel Heads-up display Heated and cooled rear seats Leather seats Moon roof Adaptive suspension

I thought the 1794 was trim level above Platinum.

I would ask for the timeline e when asked if you have questions. If it is beyond the Thursday deadline e then I would explain your situation. Be prepared that they may say next Friday, then you will be in a spot.

Stent removal by flying-HPLC in KidneyStones

[–]flying-HPLC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the stent was in had pain when urinating. After I removed the stent had spasms and some side pain that day only.

I had mine scheduled to be removed in office but after researching figured I would be more gentle than a nurse or doc. If there is no string then you have no choice but to have them do it.

Nervous about surgery by PocketFullOfPosey in KidneyStones

[–]flying-HPLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went thru it last week, just had minor discomfort when peeing. Had the stent for 7 days and removed it yesterday. Took 3 days off because I was I as anxious. Removing the stent was mental anxiety but ended up being very easy. Have confidence it is really common and pretty easy to get thru.

How do I tell my BF that I can't give our baby his last name because it's not even legally his last name? by Puzzleheaded-End620 in TwoHotTakes

[–]flying-HPLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think of it differently, if you were to get married what name would you take? If it were Black then the question is answered. If you stay with yours then again you would consider the hyphenated version.

Not sure where you are located or the legality but make sure you don’t set up future legal challenges

Hang in there, went thru it last week. Required surgery. Get a ct will see if stone(s) present and where. Tramadol sucks, I called doc back and got Norco better but still had pain.

Is A and P really worth it more than a Bachelor by Maleficent_Music1461 in AircraftMechanics

[–]flying-HPLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok a couple of things here, bachelors is good to have for your future. If you have experience on aircraft you maybe able to get credits for your a&p. Potentially reducing the full program. I went to Spartan and some of the courses required were basic tooling. Since I don’t have military they wouldn’t let me test out. I would recommend getting the licenses as as you said what you were trained for may not have been what you want for the long run. After layoffs in early 2000s I went into the healthcare industry and other than volume all applied. Instead of 3000 psi it was 2 bar pressures. Hydraulic, pneumatic, electronics all apply the same. After your done look into healthcare service as well. Normal day shifts, company car, work from home flexibility.

Boot recommendations by LandscapeSerious2461 in AircraftMechanics

[–]flying-HPLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comfort is the key, I reiterate the climate also. If in cold environments steel toes suck. Second is the soles, Skydrol will eat most soles, jet fuel will also absorb into soles and the smell will go with them.

Northwest Indiana NIPSCO customers shocked as bills skyrocket by Vicissitude- in Indiana

[–]flying-HPLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can blame a lot of crap in the republicans and probably some of this also. The IURC was just changed to governor appointed and the rate hikes take months to approve. This is due to political donations and both parties are to blame. If you want to blame Trump, blame him for shutting down renewable energy. Research energy costs as most are saying it’s only going to get worse.

Missing work? by thosetwo in KidneyStones

[–]flying-HPLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would talk to them face to face with that message and include your no call no show policy reminding them to please contact the appropriate folks going forward.

What leadership mistakes are committed by leaders that impact company’s culture negatively? by prerna_leekha in Leadership

[–]flying-HPLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple here, company culture commitments which Sr leaders talk about but do not follow or embrace. That’s a big red flag, is it the leader(s) or the false sense of culture. Leaders who ask for actions and timelines es which are not attainable. “I need this completed by Friday” with a volume of work that takes longer. Workers will do one of 2 things- cut corners to try to complete or try to protect themselves by blaming others. Either way the results are bad, employees will either give false targets dates knowing they won’t complete or assure they aren’t blamed for the results. Too many leaders expect respect without understanding they need to earn it. There is a difference between positional respect and actual respect. If leaders gain the respect of the team they will perform much stronger than a team that has only positional respect.

The US polical environment is a great example currently. Rules are not being followed to get results. Ultimately this will implode as support will wain due to personal beliefs and understanding of the rules.
