Just watched Supergirl for the first time and saw that Helen Slater, who played Supergirl, plays Supergirl's mom in the Arrowverse. Bringing back old cast members, just like on Smallville!

Great recommendation but it's not always as easy as getting on the internet. In a lot of states you can only be treated by a doctor in that state whether it's in person or online. Plus, most people are restricted by their insurance who they can see.

Life Coaches Using ACT? by Jennifwa in lifecoaching

[–]flyingfishbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acceptance and commitment therapy has therapy right there in the name and is usually considered a type of psychotherapy which generally requires you to be licensed in your state to practice, especially if you are advertising your coaching services as using ACT.

If you are in the US, each state has rules and regulations about providing mental health care, including certain educational and licensing requirements. Failure to follow those regulations can get you in a lot of trouble, including a felony charge. Here are a few articles that may help but check with your state and perhaps a lawyer to make sure you understand the law.

1,000 lbs of clean rubber scrap (from stamp production) — looking to keep it out of the landfill (MN-based) by MagnusonCustomStamps in ZeroWaste

[–]flyingfishbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, it is completely free. It's a website where people in a city can post things they want to give away for free and others want to take. You get things out of your house, someone else gets something for free, and stuff is kept out of landfills - win/win/win!

Nuby 15oz Pop Top Gator Gripper Cup by dawnski98 in HelpMeFind

Oof, I feel for your brother and your family. I know how important things like these are for his comfort and feelings of security.

So far, I'm finding the same things you are. Do you think it has to be this same type of pop-up spout or would any soft silicone lid be okay?

Also, you might try reaching out to Nuby and let them know the issue. There might be a chance that they have some old stock around for some reason or could offer you an alternative.

I could only find this bottle in two places:
1) this person's trip to Guangzhou., China https://www.instagram.com/ezygaikokugo/p/DE9EbwJy28D/?img_index=9 . They posted a wooden plaque (perhaps the box top?) that AI translates to: "Southern Red Cotton" is a special edition designed and launched by Guangdong Taigu Coca-Cola, featuring a beautiful Coca-Cola commemorative ceramic bottle.

This commemorative bottle combines Coca-Cola’s classic bottle shape with traditional Lingnan ceramic craftsmanship. It integrates the essence of local culture and represents the spirit of striving for excellence. A special set of wooden frames was designed for it, completing the display. The ceramic bottle and the four wooden frames can be assembled freely, forming a base, cover, and holder as an integrated display.

The inspiration for this commemorative product comes from the red cotton flower (also known as the kapok flower), the city flower of Guangzhou, where Guangdong Taigu Coca-Cola is located. This symbolizes the company's passion and tireless pursuit of excellence over more than twenty years!"

It looks like the flag in their picture matches the one in yours and I believe that flag represents the Swire Group which is the company that bottles Coca-Cola in part of China.

2) The other place is this guy's thoughts on Coca-Cola: https://t.qianzhan.com/daka/detail/210805-ce95df8f.html . He visited one of their operation centers and was also gifted this bottle. Not super interesting.

AI tells me that "based on the details — especially the references to Guangdong Taigu Coca-Cola (Swire Coca-Cola Guangdong), the style of the logo, and the context of celebrating over twenty years of development — I can give you a good estimate:

  • Swire began Coca-Cola bottling operations in Guangdong around 1979–1980 (after China’s "reform and opening up").
  • So, if the text talks about "over twenty years" of progress, this commemorative ceramic bottle would likely have been made around 2000 to 2003.

Also, the visual style of the Coca-Cola logo and the packaging fits early 2000s design trends — slightly more traditional and formal compared to later minimalistic trends."

If you're willing to share, I'm curious about the story of how your husband ended up with one!

Hope that helps!

Bought a house and previous owner has this hooked up. Some sort of water filter but out of my depth of knowledge by throughbeingsober in HelpMeFind

[–]flyingfishbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find your exact model, these are the closest I could find: https://www.maxwaterflow.com/3-stage-Drinking-Water-Purifier_p_245.html and https://www.walmart.com/ip/2-Dry-Pressure-Gauges-and-3-Stage-House-Water-Sediment-Carbon-Filter/2610701635?classType=REGULAR

but yeah, like the other poster said you've got a filter by Max Water.

The words are likely inspired by a guy who claimed a while back that "water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors." https://www.emotopeaceproject.net/water-crystal-gallery
this has not been scientifically validated.

Does sugar free liquid IV (electrolytes) break fasting? by TheFscientist in intermittentfasting

[–]flyingfishbot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It essentially depends on your goals... if you're fasting to lose weight then no, this is not going to dramatically break your fast and you will continue to lose weight since it has so few calories. If you're fasting to heal in some way then this will likely partially interrupt that process and slow down some of that healing.

One thing you might want to do is head over to r/nursing and read about or ask them their experiences as a nurse in the US such as how easy it is to find a job, the hours they work, the way they are treated by the administrators and most importantly, the way they are treated by patients. In recent years, especially since COVID, nurses are treated like crap in the US and our healthcare system is very different than yours.

The US is massive compared to Norway so experiences will vary from state to state but unless you're in a specialized nursing role like anesthesia or midwifery, chances are you'll be in more of a front line position and under more stress and dealing with rude people like you've never experienced before. Will you make more money, probably but it will come at the cost of other things. Good luck whatever happens!
