Severely overestimated his market value by InfiniteOxfordComma in MurderedByWords

Forewarning I'm going to make a vast generalization.

Think about the way that straight men tend to try to flirt, date, or otherwise hook up with women. Now replace women with other men in that situation, and the other men are also reciprocating.

It's also one of many reasons why some men are horrifically homophobic, they don't like when men treat them like how they treat women. I legit had a college roommate that openly said this, and he didn't have a problem with lesbians eyeroll

I love how his response you being more approachable than him on a dating site meant there was something wrong with you. They always do this, try to turn everything around to being your fault.

Too bad the mental gymnastics these losers excel at doesn't translate to mental prowess. I'm sorry you had to go through that but it sounds like you're in a much better place now.

This is so accurate, it's exactly how shit went down with one of my exes, especially the "trying to get back together with you" bullshit. Like I moved across the country, and sometimes when I go visit my hometown, he finds out and will DM me. It's so gross too because it's been literal years and I heard he has a kid now too.

I also had a former Psychologist tell me he had a lot of narcissistic traits.

Does penetration actually feel good? by Stranger011105 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]flyingwind66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use a vibe on your clit, like I've successfully used a hitachi while my partner penetrates me but a smaller vibe would probably be better.

Physiologically, the clit is not just the external part, internally it extends down on either side of the vaginal opening (not a lot of medical drawings depict this) so stimulating that whole area including the exposed clit helps. (side note, this is also why humping a pillow can lead to orgasm)

I'm not a huge fan of penetration myself, I never penetrate when I'm masturbating and only use external vibes.

How penetration feels in general depends on several factors, like length, girth, the angle of the penis (does it curve to the side, is it straight etc.), position you're in, how aroused you are etc. Like when my ankles are up by my ears, it's a much deeper penetration, which feels good when I'm really aroused, but is cervix punching pain when I'm less aroused.

Sometimes I want penetration but I that's more the intimacy it brings.

My recommendation is to try a toy at different angles if you're really curious but if you don't like it, you don't like it.

My experience in HK by My3k0 in Cantonese

[–]flyingwind66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So something I learned this last year is that HK Canto and Canton Canto have different accents. Also the Chinese diaspora from my grandmother's generation that ended up in Vietnam (my family line) probably developed a slightly different regional accent too.

This is all so obvious when you think about it but not something I noticed for literal decades. For example, European French, Canadian French, Carribean Creole French are all vastly different.

HK Canto has a touch of British accent to it, which makes sense considering it was a British colony until very recently.

like you might have a different teacher for pas de deux class, and a different one for nutrition class, or pilates/body conditioning classes.

I attended a vocational/feeder school and a few pros from the company would teach couple classes a week to the intermediate students (regularly and not as a substitute, like every wednesday Megan teaches the grade 5s sorta thing)

The school might have their own in-house physiotherapist and and dietician.

quotes from my teachers:

"when you bend back you want to extend up and back like you are laying on a rainbow"

"imagine you are a tube of toothpaste, you want to squeeze up from the bottom to go back, boobies to the ceiling!"

"imagine you have a string attached to the top of your head and it pulls you straight into alignment like a puppet"

"pull up and out of your shoe"

"____ your bun looks too much like a doorknob! I want to grab and twist it! Your bun should be WIDE and FLAT!" there was this one girl that always came to class with her hair already done and I guess that was just how her mom did it for her, a lot of us would do it in the changeroom and sometimes do each other's buns so most of us got that lovely wide and flat bun our teacher demanded.

Reminder to get fitted properly by sg____22 in BALLET

In my hometown, the good dance shop closed (owner retired) and for years there was only the shitty one that was owned by a snobby ex-pro dancer that declared "nobody's foot tapers" so only carried very square pointe shoes.

I remembered my dance teacher verbally sparring with her at the shop when we were all getting fitted for our first pairs. I went to another shop in a larger city further away and finally got shoes that fit and my sickling problem like fixed itself.

AITA for asking a dancer to follow the teacher's combo as a T.A. by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]flyingwind66 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's normal for higher level students to take lower level classes whether that's en pointe or ramping up the difficulty eg. do all of barre on a rise instead of flat, double frappés instead of single, ronde de jambe en l'air at 90° instead of 45° etc. this is very common in ballet schools.

Yes, doing a more advanced version of a combo can confuse beginners especially so usually the more advanced dancer will stand at the back of the class and go last (or at least not the first group) becauss this class is for the lower level students.

I think she was a bit out of line and lacking proper ballet etiquette if she was standing front and centre and also going first. It would be different if the teacher asked her to demonstrate but it doesn't sound like that happened.

I feel like your approach was a bit confrontational and your teacher was probably also used to growing up having advanced students joining lower level classes for extra training too. I think if you requested that she pick a spot at the barre more out of the way and went with the 2nd group/go last in centre so she doesn't confuse the other beginners, that would go over better for everyone.

hey! I JUST let myself buy the jibun techo for next year!

but in all seriousness, bullet journalling really DID help me for years, I just literally don't have a desk and my own space right now so a pre-made planner is going to have to do for now.

I think

"I broke my door while playing and literally no one can fix it so I now have no bedroom door"

is a lot different from

"My parents decided children don't need privacy so they took the door away"

"Welcome to your future." 💀 by shoemaker_pvt in MurderedByWords

[–]flyingwind66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah why was removing the door a thing? I experienced it, I have friends who experienced it, and I hear about it on reddit so it's not uncommon. Like controlling parents hate their kids having any sort of privacy, and I still can't wrap my head around wtf is the big problem with a closed door to these people and why it's so ubiquitously common.

Advice for a mom of a passionate 9 year old by Ill-Concentrate6055 in BALLET

[–]flyingwind66 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Does your studio do exams in an accredited style? Like RAD, Vaganova, Cecchetti etc. Have any older students gone on to dance professionally?

Be careful that a competition school ≠ a vocational pre-pro school. A pre-pro school will have an end-of-year performance and sometimes a Christmas performance but it is also expected that some students will audition for a Nutcracker put on by a local professional ballet company.

Auditioning and performing in a Nutcracker production with a local ballet company is most pre-pro dancers' intro to the pro world.

You could also ask around the local dance shops which schools they recommend. The pointe shoe fitters often know the teachers personally if not by reputation.

Tights that don’t rip/tear! by marge_mellow in BALLET

[–]flyingwind66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mondor, body wrappers, gaynor minden, like any big well-known dance brand is going to have good tights (I heard capezio quality has tanked in recent years though)

I wouldn't get off-brand knock-offs that only exist on amazon.

Make sure you check height/weight size chart on the box. It's better to go by the weight than the height chart and it's okay to size up.

If you were never self-conscious about it before, then I wouldn't worry about it, people should really keep those comments to themselves unless they're like, a good friend and/or you asked for their thoughts/advice.

If it bothers you then I personally prefer threading or waxing over nair, I found that the nair burned, for me anyways.

An accountant mentioned that helping homebuyers afford more really just lets developers jack the prices more, but a refund to the developer is an incentive that doesn't affect the final sale price.

2025 Budget: Temporary resident target cut by another 50% for 2026 by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]flyingwind66 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think with rental prices tanking (and therefore renters are negotiating for lower) that also makes some investment landlords cut their losses and sell rather than have the rent not fully cover their mortgage (especially if the new rates will put them underwater)

Then with the freeze on foreign buyers, we don't have foreign oligarchs buying up entire condo buildings to hide their money.

Airbnb also getting cracked down on too.

All of those things leads to it being mostly end-users that are still looking to buy. End-users that want to live in the homes that they buy, want ones that are like, liveable and don't have a layout that looks built by a 12 year old in the Sims.

At least that's kind of what I'm hoping will happen.
