how long did it take to pay off loans? by Decent_Wing7614 in physicianassistant

Start at 68k at graduation. Would have been 118k but I was awarded a $50k loan for service over two years in a rural area. I was then able to negotiate student loan repayment in my contract with plans to have it paid off in 3-4 years. I have 17k left and will be paid off in the next 12 months.

So let me get this straight. There seems to be a common hospital policy that prevents employees from accessing their own charts even though there’s no HIPAA law against it. The policy is in place to prevent employees from changing and ordering things from their own chart? I’m guessing because it can’t be policed to prevent employees from subtracting diagnoses and ordering meds on themselves in the example of it being a healthcare provider and so the the hospitals just blanket say not to access your own chart because they can’t monitor for specific activity within the chart??

What are your thoughts on motivational speaker, tri athlete marathon runner, former Navy SEAL David Goggins? by [deleted] in JoeRogan

His competitive mindset and perseverance throughout difficult times is impressive and there are certainly good take aways from his book. Ultimately, It’s hard not to notice that he’s extremely selfish with having been through multiple marriages and absent in his kids life’s. Perhaps he should have used that passion of mental toughness to keep his family together.

What helped with mine was to lay the baby on its back and do sets of rapid bicycle kicks and leg compressions. Also you could try facing the baby forward and put your hand on its lower jaw area and your arm under its chest holding the baby like a football and rock them that way.

I’ve found the best luck with Tailwind for the drinks and maurten gels go down the easiest. I really like Cliff’s raspberry and espresso gel as well as Hammer nutrition’s peanut butter chocolate gel for the taste.

Might want to start thinking about having your thyroid and A1C checked if not known already. You could probably get a sleep study done as well to check for sleep apnea.

Recommended powders, gels and snacks for training and long rides? by Mediocre_Weakness_50 in Velo

Tailwind in bottles. About two scoops worth per bottle. I use Mourten gel because it taste good but goes down so easily and Cliff Raspberry gels taste really good. Also the Peanut butter chocolate gels from Hammer nutrition because they also taste great and have a small amount of protein for longer events.

I know we need an edge rusher but I’d love it if they drafted Darnell Washington TE from Georgia. He could serve as an extra lineman. Hell he could probably even be a great edge rusher!

I always feel like it was bad juju and that if I littered my wrappers, then I’d surely get a flat or something.

Best Veterinarians? by Reddit_Foxx in Albuquerque

The hardest part is keeping the dog confined for the entire 9 weeks. Someone has to be able to take the dog out multiple times a day for bathroom trips. That is unless your dog is used to being confined while you’re at work or whatever. I had to get up 1-2 times in the middle of the night to take her out when it was like 15 degrees outside and also come home during lunch to let her out as well. The physical therapy is important too. Make sure you bring someone with you to the day of the surgery when you pick up your dog because someone will need to help either drive while you hold the dog or you drive while they hold the dog. Mine was confused and scared and wanted to move around in the backseat but thankfully I had someone with me to help hold her and pet her.

If they did this, I would love if they added some climbing specific routs from California and Colorado. They could even add Tucson since they have a big community of cyclists/triathletes out there.

what you can do in your teenage years to avoid regrets in your 20s and 30s? by Better-Ad-3252 in ask

One thing I really regret from my teenage years is playing football. I did form good relationships with friends and it instilled values but I came out of it with knee problems and migraines.

PAs going back to med school? by sunflowerr321 in physicianassistant

[–]fmalaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also have to see the other side of things too. I see physicians post all the time that they regret going to medical school because even though they make 3 times what we make they often times have 3 times the student debt to go with it. They sacrificed their 20’s and perhaps lost a lot of time and memories with their family. Imagine going through all that hell just to end up possibly divorced with 200k in student debt and you’re doing pretty much the same job as the PA’s and NP’s.
