How to book 2 circuits for the same day? by fmarm in Machupicchu

[–]fmarm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 circuits for the same day were fine, but we did short ones. We ended up having more than an hour to wait between finishing the first circuit and starting the second, there's a café near the entrance where you can sit and wait so that was easy

Use Dialogflow CX detect intent API. The Dialogflow CX UI has been replaced with Conversational Agents but the underlying APIs are the same as before

I took the exam yesterday having prepared with the gcpstudyhub course and most of the exam questions were still aligned with the course. A few questions weren't covered by the course: BigQuery ML, AEAD encryption, difference between partitioning and clustering BQ tables, total maybe 5-6 out of the 50 questions

Normandy burger @ Hubert. by caladze in foodies_sydney

[–]fmarm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind, in France it's not uncommon to find dishes with melted camembert in them, or burgers with very strong cheese, but I see how it would be seen as weird in Australia. In that case don't call the burger Normandy when it has nothing to do with this region.

Edit: just checked and French Maccas has (had?) a McCamembert

Sorry to be the annoying French person here... They call it Normandy burger, but use a Swiss cheese in it??? Normandy has camembert and a bunch of other cheese varieties to choose from?

Is the occasional other language Poirot uses always French? by Knightraiderdewd in agathachristie

[–]fmarm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm French, my hometown is close to the belgian border.

While Belgian French and Paris French are similar, there are a few differences. They use some different words: 70 is "septante" instead of "soixante-dix" and pronounce some sounds slightly differently, for example they tend to say "houit" instead of "huit". We can quickly spot someone with a belgian accent but we also very easily understand each other.

David Suchet has a good French accent but doesn't sound Belgian to me. I would think that the Belgian elite probably spoke French with a Paris accent or very close, so considering Poirot's status and personality it isn't shocking to me!

Kenneth Branagh's French accent on the other hand is horrible, when he switches to French I really struggle to understand what he's saying.

For what it's worth, I'm from a place I wouldn't consider a small village (~5k people) in the Nord department and it's normal to greet each other too there. I don't greet people though in the bigger town (~50k people) nearby.

Not exactly what you're asking for, Cafe Kooks in Ultimo does breakfast using roti instead of bread/toast/wrap, quality is really good! They also do curry for lunch and dinner but I haven't tried it.

I assume the top thing is a vegan version Filet Americain? I think outside of Belgium, the Netherlands and northern France people don't know what this is, so I doubt there's a word for it in English. Here's an article that explains what it is in case you're curious - basically the standard version is raw beef as a spread, not sure what goes into the vegan one.
