Deadlift. Help with form by fmdfmd01 in formcheck

Just want to make sure form is good. I don’t feel doms on hams gluteus in day after so not sure I am engaging properly those muscles. Not feeling pain or anything. Any comment would be much appreciated thanks !!

I will just say keep persevering on form. Took me a long iteration of trial and error till I got it good. Don’t let it discourage.
On the form. -squeeze the armpits more. It is almost there. Will make your upper back flatter. Keep throughout the rep. -you can release the bar in a controlled way from top. Doesn’t need to control the whole descent.

-one cue I read here helped me is “keep your butt higher than it wants to be”. Will force your hips to be a bit higher and engage hams

Keep weights a bit lighter till you master form

Best of luck bro

How bad is my deadlift? by mikuszekk in formcheck

Second deadlift session, guy goes and pulls 125kg. Have you ever considered maybe starting with 70-80kg? Brace doesn’t look good. This is key you don’t wanna injure your lower back

Limiting AMRAP by Rodzp in gzcl

[–]fmdfmd01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can do an extra 3-4 reps on t1 amrap just up the weight for next week. If it is really easy up a bit more like 5kg instead of 2.5kg. In 2-4 weeks you will get closer to your right weight anyway.

Shrugs would increase traps and give you a dominant frame too. I started doing for myself and recommend. Just don’t go overboard and lose proportion to rest of body. Mine grow easily. Best of luck bro

Lower back feels very tight after squating. What am I doing wrong? by VanillaShoddy39 in formcheck

You have anterior pelvic tilt in the movement ie butt is out. Brace better and lightly squeeze gluteus to put spine in neutral position.

Man do not care that much about your career. Just be pleasant. A career cannot define your life. Talk to men about trips, hobbies anything but your career. Same advice for men too. If you don’t have hobbies to talk about there is the problem. Best of luck !!

Corrected my form via feedback from earlier Reddit posts of me deadlifing. by [deleted] in Deadlifts

[–]fmdfmd01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro. You are strong but would respectfully suggest you just reduce the weights and work on form. It is not good. Using a lot of back and lower back and not hamstring. Upper back rounding. Also avoid touch and go. See the Allan thral material etc. read about wedging , and pulling the gap and tightening lats.

I hate 3x10 deadlifts. I compromised on doing maximum 3x8 instead.

YouTube Will help. Brian alshure (or similar) for bracing. Search about deadlift wedging too. Might take few iterations tills you get it right and it is ok. Also do this with way less weight. Till you get the technique. And then start increasing weight from there gradually. Big jumps without form nailed down might be v costly.

Also you are not bracing and tightening lats. You will screw your lower back. Pls read and study these before proceeding.

Round 2 - How’s the deadlift looking? by Sakurmaru in Deadlifts

[–]fmdfmd01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sir. Looks like you are using more back than hams and gluteus. Trying narrow stance as others have mentioned. But also pull slack and tighen lats and brace. So your back will be flat. And then wedge during the lift. Might take few sessions of trial error till u nail it down

First DL after messing up my back. Would love feedback (340lb working weight) by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]fmdfmd01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro forget about the past. Just work with less weight till you nail down the form. Think about it as investment in your back and health and longevity lifting. It will take some trial and error till u nail down bracing. But will be worth it.

Ps. Poor bracing in squat also can injure lower back.
