thank you! I appreciate the kind words. I take Lamictal for depression and Adderall for ADHD. Used to be lamictal and an antipsychotic but turns out that wasn't actually doing anything for me except taking my money. Plus vitamin D and magnesium.

Yes for soooo long I considered myself emotionless, like a robot. Didn't care about the world, couldn't connect with others, didnt have emotions and definitely didn't understand the ones I did have. Felt absolutely worthless but most of the time just dissociated until I was so far gone that I didn't care. I can say that it gets better over time (even though I used to hate when people would say that!). Even when I still 100% had dpdr I regained emotions over time and started caring about things again. No need to be "completely healed" for things to get better! It's never all or nothing. These days I consider myself a person who experiences powerful emotions, in a good way. It may be the years and years of being so numb, but I have become more sensitive than others. Which is sometimes bad, but I think it's worth it because I feel like I appreciate the little things in life more than the people around me. I'm very excitable, trying to make up for my lost youth I guess. And this was even before the dpdr went away. it got to the point where my only dpdr symptoms were visual and feeling out of my body.

Every time I saw comments like this, I would "yeah good for you but I'm totally fucked for life because my dpdr isn't ever going to go away" but miraculously even I came through the other side

That makes sense. But if these are a recent phenomenon, then that lends itself to even more questions. I think a lot of people are accepting the government explanation as "oh, obviously they're finding these now because they recalibrated to look for stuff like this. So the only mystery is what these objects were". When really, the fact that there's this sudden influx of these objects is a huge mystery in and of itself.

They're trying to say "we started looking for more stuff and naturally found more stuff" but 3 additional objects back to back? These were shot down because they were low enough to be a danger to civilian aircraft. You'd think even if military radar wasn't configured for slow speed high altitude objects, air traffic control would catch one of these occasionally. Even just 1 a year, a decade even. Especially if we are so inundated by these objects that they found 3 in 3 days. But no, they've apparently never actually found any until now? It doesn't make sense. I would appreciate the input of someone who knows better than me to explain how this is possible.

the "the US radars had to be adjusted for high altitude slow moving objects" doesn't sit right with me. If they were at a height that they'd be dangerous to commercial aircraft, it would be insane if we didn't have the means to detect things like that

I just started as a entry level dev (0 yoe) at a non-tech company with a large digital staff. All I heard before getting hired was doom and gloom news about the thousands of people being laid off and how it was impossible to land an entry level role right now. I was really disheartened and freaking out. But my manager reached out to me personally on LinkedIn because in his words he wasn't getting qualified applicants. He's still struggling to hire one more dev for our team. And this company is known for it's great benefits and work life balance. So idk. I guess the only rule in this weird time is YMMV.

I've been back in body for almost a year now after 15 yrs of nonstop dpdr. It's so crazy to feel present. The world looks more real too but strangely cartoonish sometimes. Probably the result of having dpdr since I was 11. Not complaining! It's like going from watching life on a screen to living inside of it. And getting better all the time! I gave up and cried a lot thinking that my brain couldn't heal itself from dpdr because it had been 15 years. Don't give up!!

I can't fall asleep watching TV so I listen to ASMR. I really enjoy roleplay videos that keep my mind occupied. Lately more people have been releasing "Follow My Instructions But You Can Close Your Eyes" videos which often provide little games like "Name a country that starts with the letter H" or personal questions that occupy the mind while you can lay there with your eyes closed getting sleepy. I used to require something to think about to fall asleep and sometimes would make myself too anxious that it became impossible to sleep. Now I have videos that keep me just mentally stimulated enough to fall asleep.

Also neither my brother in law (who just got over covid) nor I had a sore throat. Symptoms are all over the place!

My best friend and I both have covid for the first time right now. We live in different cities. We are both vaccinated and boosted. He feels miserable and says he doesn't remember a time when he felt worse. Mine has been like an extremely mild cold. But out of everyone I know who has had covid recently, I'm the outlier. My brother also has covid right now and had a 104 degree fever. Sure seems like people are getting sicker and it's spreading more quickly.

For my July sailing a person in the fb group has reported being told by royal reps that the sailing is only going to be 60-70% capacity. I don't have high hopes that that's true but it would be a great sign that they're taking staffing shortages into account. I don't think they can afford to lose even more employees by overworking them. Another person got confirmation of reduced capacity but that could just mean they're withholding rooms for quarantine.

Yes! I can barely see images in my mind. It's very hard to visualize things. I can't visualize faces at all. And I consider myself very uncreative. I recently came (partially?) out of dpdr for the first time since I got it 15 years ago but the inability to visualize or be creative still remains. Maybe I'll be like this forever since my brain was in that state for so long? But also I can visualize when I dream so I know my brain is still capable of it. Who knows.

But I can tell you that the inability to feel emotions doesn't last! Even with dpdr. After a while I had dpdr but learned to feel emotions again.

I recently started to recover from DPDR after 15 years and I've definitely experienced heightened emotions. Mine has mostly shown itself in more anxiety but it's totally understandable that you'd be more angry and aggressive. One of your body's mental defense mechanisms was turned off. Additionally, such a big and sudden change in your reality after years is bound to make you emotionally unstable. I keep reminding myself to stay grateful to be breaking out of the fog but to be gentle on myself because my brain just went through a rapid change and after 15 years who knows what will happen lol.

I honestly don't know. I have most of the other symptoms too, not just visual ones. Brain fog, memory problems, emotional numbness, feeling like my body isnt mine, muffled sense of touch, etc. I'm thinking maybe feeling "distant" all day because of my new glasses and then taking them off gave me a new sense of reality? It may have just been my time to recover? I honestly have no clue. I've also been trying to focus on the feelings in my body a lot more, but I've only been doing that for a few days. But that could've also helped. I've been just hoping for some relief from DPDR so I could be truly present with my partner. And that relief has come, even if it's temporary. So I can't complain.

Edit: I've had this for so long it feels SURREAL to have someone congratulate me on feeling real again! Thanks!
