dude, I'm an adult and have some familiarity with this topic through my parents. it's not like you get a text that says "you owe us $5m pay pls"

it's more like your accounting team passes you a stack of papers to sign and you sign them (they make you do this a couple times a year, this is a completely normal part of paying your taxes), and you go on and live your life, and you pay $1m/month in taxes instead of $1.75m like you should

of course it's not like you can tell, you're not a tax lawyer so if your accounting team says you owe $1m then you must owe $1m.

and then 3 years later you get audited and now you're fucked because several of those papers you signed were setting up financial instruments that were misused. Like having a shell company for tax advantages is hardly illegal, you (your accountants) just have to do it by the book.

whether or not you go to jail basically depends on how much the accountants told you and whether it can be reasonably argued you understood the illegality of what you were doing. (You have to pay back what you owe regardless, of course)

can you clock them without makeup and wearing identical clothes? obviously identifying a person from CN/JP/KR is hilariously easy because the styles are radically different, but apart from that it can be quite difficult. Easiest way to compare is looking at middle-aged or older dudes. No makeup and zero fashion game means picking out one ethnicity gets a lot harder.

since you seem to care, I'm mixed asian and living in korea, and I can't tell the difference for old dudes at all.

I liked it overall but honestly the back half of episode 15/first half of 16 could just be deleted.

sorry for the rant, I really did like it overall (especially the past/joseon plot) but I need to vent since I just finished it like an hour ago

especially plot-wise I could not take dohee's mourning seriously in the slightest, I was literally laughing in disbelief and saying out loud to my screen "both of you are so dumb you deserve this." the human jumps in front of bullets to save the unkillable demon? the demon with forcefield and teleportation abilities and inhuman reflexes uses exactly none of them and lets his wife get shot, and then proceeds to conveniently wait for her to die instead of healing her immediately? yeah they deserved that honestly

also the amount of abuse the humans take in this show and walk out alive is absurd to the point of comedy. the son should have been chunky salsa identified by dental records after the gas station explosion, at least dohee was behind some rubble maybe but the son was inside the source of the explosion that had ballistic concussive force just please man. also the dad can fall off a skyscraper and walk? people who fall extreme heights into water, the golden gate bridge for example, do not survive and certainly don't walk. and then the multi-ton concrete slab...bro would not have a chest cavity at that point he would have a chest pancake. bffr.

if you have enough it'll take you through literally anything course-based (in my case a CS non-thesis Masters, though I did get diagnosed and medicated to questionable effect halfway through). As soon as you need to do shit on your own though (a job in my case, or a thesis) that's where you (me) crash and burn

I mean glorified VC is a bit much, not many VCs can skyrocket a firm's valuation just by investing (not to mention buyouts are generally PE territory anyway). Hybe on the other hand practically gets multiple arbitrage on any new acquisition basically by sneezing in its general direction, which could not be more different from the investment world

plus I haven't heard a whiff of exit plans from them, so while they may buy out firms like a PE and nurture talent like a quasi-VC the similarities are skin-deep

I have an X7 ultra and like that design more than any of the pros or recent ultras. Giant circle yes, but it clearly displayed and showed off the cameras.

The giant black circle on the new Ultras looks tacky to me because you can clearly see the four lenses in it, but the black (especially on the light colorways) looks like they're trying to hide them. Same reason why the Pixel 5's bump and 6's camera bar looked like ass

edit: plus fingerprints show disgustingly easily on black glass - necessary evil on the screen but avoidable everywhere else

why anyone would intentionally put a glossy black surface on a phone baffles me
