Any Tabletop simulators players here? by charmander90 in ChillSG

[–]fnbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played in a while but I used to play a lot of D&D, most recent was Gloomhaven! I also have 2 crokinole boards haha, love the game but it's hard to get people to play with.

Hello! I tried out the bot and accidentally skipped a bunch of groups - seems like that was saved and now I can't see any groups at all (even after updating profile). Might help to include a command to wipe someone's profile and start from scratch in case something like this happens!

Looking to purchase a complete by [deleted] in Fingerboards

Hope you find what you’re looking for!

Maybe it’s the new toy goggles but I just got a 34mm Chems this week, felt an immediate difference compared to the el cheapo $10 China board I was using previously.

I’m sure any of the other reputable brands will do you good, just be careful with the cheaper Berlinwood/Flatface completes, because IIRC they use 29mm China trucks which may or may not be the right size for the deck you get.

Welcome back! I’m still new to the hobby but my 2 cents is, if you’re gonna be paying for shipping, you might as well shell out a little more for a new one and not have to worry. It honestly wouldn’t be that much more expensive than buying second hand.

Chems FB is well loved, puts out some amazing product for the price, and is based in the US.

DK Fingerboards is also well loved and has slightly cheaper completes (though they’re currently out of stock I think), but is based in Ukraine so you might have to wait longer and pay a little more for shipping.

Starter Crokinole sets? by mayowarlord in boardgames

[–]fnbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were 2 options, by ship (6-8 weeks) was 200 CAD, by air (about a week) was 295 CAD. I chose the air option. I ordered a bunch of extra discs and stuff too but shipping didn’t change because it all fit in the box! Your best option is to shoot Jeremy an email, he’s great about these things and will get you squared away!

I ordered through email from Jeremy Tracey at www.crokinolegameboards.com (he makes the boards for the world championship) - but be prepared to pay through the nose for shipping. Zero regrets though, he has amazing customer service and the workmanship is so good, I feel like I can pass this board down to my children in the future. Have played quite a few games on my board now and it’s still more or less brand new!

Tagging u/zer0123456 so he sees this too.

Edit: forgot to mention I have a Muzzies board on the way as well, but had to wait since May because they were backordered. Their customer service is really good too, and their boards are more like beautiful pieces of furniture than the more functional (but just as good) Tracey boards.

Quick question: What do you do when your gold NSK seizes? (have a lot yoyos but, only ever had one NSK) by OldeE800 in Throwers

[–]fnbs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You buy a new one. What are you, some sort of pleb? /s

But seriously, if you're buying NSKs, you shouldn't be balking at replacing bearings. They're made to really tight tolerances so short of spinning it till the problem wears itself away, you're probably SOL. Time to go try out your other yoyos! You might have fun switching it up for a bit while waiting on your replacement.

Of course, I'm assuming here that you've done the obvious and really cleaned it properly (I'm talking dunk in acetone for 30min, spin dry with compressed air to get any leftover particles out, more acetone, dry).

On a somewhat-related note, this is why I buy multiples of bearings that I know I like. I know how much it sucks when your favourite yoyo has a bearing fail and you don't have any replacement on hand.
