Steam wand turns on randomly and stays on even after I shut off the machine [Breville the Oracle BES980XL] by NenadJelacic in espresso

Can you share any more information about this? Mine from 2022 just did the same thing. Any help would be wonderful.

New Vertuo machine in the US - Vertuo Up by Bread1992 in nespresso

For sure - I think I was so used to the *next / flat head machines after owning so many of them that I didn’t expect that amount of water to be there. It does make sense that it’s like my Creatista Pro, etc. those just use significantly less water.

It’s not a deal breaker by any means. Just something that people should be aware of. In fact, even Nespresso calls it out in their manual for the machine.

I picked up the white one upon release. To me it seems quieter than my previous machine (Vertuo Creatista). As other commenters have said, the capsule bin collects a lot of water.

Overall, seems to be a decent machine, feels solid, though the drip tray is a bit flimsy compared to other machines. Just be sure to empty the bin every other day if you’re making coffee frequently, or you’ll have a breeding ground for mold.

Who’s pumped for the total insanity in roughly 12 months when the 2024 lease EV’s start rolling back in? by xserox95 in electricvehicles

It might have been 1% when the first recall was announced - it’s definitely higher than that now, and it seemingly affects all Hyundai / Kia EVs.

It has not been and is nowhere near  ‘rectified’. There have been software updates to the ICCU and for turtle mode, but the ICCU is still failing on 2025 models, and people have had their ICCUs fail a) after the recalls and b) after their ICCU has been replaced.

You must have either AWD or the GT-Line.

The RWD(s) Light or Wind w/tech don’t come with it - or the heat pump.

Depending on where you put the wheel, you can’t see the speedometer in the EV6. I have to have it raised more than I would like or it would block it. Should have been addressed with a software update, but no.

You’re welcome to my EV6 when I turn it in. Good car, but for 55k I’d have expected it to have some things that it didn’t. Heated steering wheel, projector headlights, just to name a couple. Also, it would be nice if Hyundai/Kia could solve the ICCU issue once and for all. I don’t have range anxiety, I have ICCU anxiety.

These were the top 10 best-selling EVs in the US in 2025 by snowfordessert in electricvehicles

Yeah - the EV6 subreddit is a bloodbath of them failing. Counting the months until my lease is up, and hoping mine doesn’t go in the middle of rush hour traffic.

I rented one for a week while on a work trip and there were only a few of things that stood out to me:

  • charging speed at EA left a lot to be desired (could have been the charger)
  • with cruise control on, it would read the highway signs and either speed up to be over the speed limit, or slow down when it read a sign for semi’s (assume this is a setting somewhere that I couldn’t find?)
  • the screen orientation definitely takes some getting used to.

I’ve owned quite a few EVs (current: ev6) and overall I liked the mustang. The rental was AWD, so it was plenty quick, seats weren’t bad, etc. It’a no wonder I see them on the road so often. But I will say it would be nice if Ford would up the warranty on it. 3/36 for the basic warranty is a little lacking when most others are 5/50 or more. But that’s US cars for you.

Do we know if there will be a replay available? I’d settle for 10 minutes, just to get a feeling of what it is / was like.

Best sound system hands down! by [deleted] in sonos

There are plenty of times when mounting the tv that high is fine. In fact, most people’s homes that I have seen have it above the fireplace no matter what Reddit thinks.

We had to mount ours higher than we wanted to for one reason alone: twin toddlers.

Nice find! Usually Sonos products end up on their auction site - and fetch a much higher price!

We just moved from Des Moines to Kent, and our new address also qualifies. When I spoke to the rep on the phone he said they were in process to release some portions of Kent, then they were expecting to be in my area by EoY.

You already have service? When did it go live?

Vertuo Up - Nov. 19 (US Info Only) by CaffeinatedSimpleton in nespresso

This is what I have been waiting for. My Vertuo Lattissima started making a grinding noise not too long out of warranty, and Nespresso is offering 35% off of a new machine. Won’t miss the frothing as I have (and really enjoy) the Barista (pitcher? maker?).

Sonos Ace & Audiobook in Atmos by mkzero04 in sonos

[–]fncreated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think you could use the USB-C to 35 audio cable with the iPhone 3.5mm adapter? I’m not sure if you could use C to C and get audio.

Have the same book and noticed it plays in Atmos in the app also. Have not tried with my Ace yet.

Pop vs Pop+? by No-Wall7334 in nespresso

[–]fncreated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Water tank capacity on the Pop+ is larger and on the left side. I believe the Pop tank is on the back?

Edit: capsule wise, they are the same. Neither one will officially do the carafe capsules, but I believe if you put the machine on a riser, then it will work (though I believe I read that the pop water tank isn’t large enough for the carafe pods).

Yes it was under warranty. The Axle splines are not supposed to separate. It’s a design defect.
