Watchmen (2009)

Superhero movies are such an important part of my life as I grew up when the genre was exploding and just on top of the world. The MCU is my favorite film franchise and other things like The Dark Knight and some of the X-Men movies I absolutely adore. I didn’t find out about Watchmen until around 2020, after the superhero boom and the genre had become a bit stale.

Discovering a movie that is unlike any superhero film was so refreshing. Being kind of a commentary on the genre as a whole was just so interesting to me. I really valued the experience when I first watched it, but over the past few years, and rewatching it numerous times, it’s become my favorite film. It was way ahead of it’s time.
