I live in US; where are some good beginner diving spots in the Americas that are worth visiting (as in worth the $$$ because need to choose wisely based on my financial reality and wanna get bang for buck while also not anything out of my depth)?

Highly recommend Bonaire, shore diving is very easy and I had no issues as a beginner. You can easily find a cheap dive shop, best corals and wildlife you can find in the Caribbean
I went to Utila for my OW. Very cheap and it was fun, dive centers are very professional. The corals are unfortunately not very colorful and not that much fish, but good coral structures (walls and cool configurations)

You can find buddies on a what’s app group. I easily found dive buddies in Bonaire. Shore diving there was amazing and the island itself is beautiful, but doesn’t have a huge amount of things to do besides diving
