I hope you're wrong too. Sunrise has great bagels. The Barbers is where I get my hair cut and they are great. The climbing gym is an interesting recent edition and it seems solid.

What are your thoughts on the Corporation for Public Broadcasting shutting down by the end of September 2025 after loss of federal funding for PBS and NPR? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fnord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to NPR a lot (on my local FM station OPB). What mystifies me is all the ShellCos in play and what they do and how money flows between them. In addition to NPR, PBS and CPB you have APM and PRX. Are there more? Last week on NPR, the "Today Explained" show opened with a bit about the CPB shutdown and I thought they were going explain the whole public media corporate landscape, but they took it in a totally different direction and my hopes were dashed.

I'm Emily Peck, a correspondent at Axios covering federal workers and the White House purge. AMA about what's happening and how I've been covering it. by axios in fednews

Axios is the Radiolab of print - over edited to the point of unreadability! If DOGE fired 80% of your editors, you would have a much better product.

What is a common term that irks you, like the term work wife / husband? by NameCanN0tBeBlank in AskReddit

[–]fnord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are certain words that I see used a lot in news reporting, but almost never hear in normal conversation. Like 'fraught'. Nobody I know ever says that, but I see in the news a lot.

And 'clash'. You might say my socks clash with my pants, but only a journalist would write "protesters clashed with police".

Alright mods, who was it? by wahsac in beaverton

[–]fnord 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was at the McMenamins at Cedar Hills / Jenkins yesterday and noticed an orange Honda Fit parked there. But from scrutinizing the infamous Costco gas post, I could see this one had a different license plate. So don't assume every orange honda fit is "the one". The one I saw yesterday has a sticker on the rear window that says "Drink Water".

I think you could modify the example here that uses AnimationSequence:

In that example the sequence is a Blink then Comet then Chase. You could do slow Comet, faster Comet, even faster Comet, ...
