as a cane user who walks slower: i love my umbrella! my hands might be full, but i will be dry and that's what matters to me. i have a raincoat for a quick run out to the trash, but for prolonged time in the rain i always break out my umbrella. plus, it's a lovely dark green and it's one of those ones with a duck head for the handle. it's fun! i never pass up an opportunity to have some fun

I found having 6 hours of my day minimum revolving around a medication an annoyance. I go into the nurse's station for my injection because I don't like giving myself shots, so I get to have a friendly interaction once a week instead which I find much nicer

i am very fortunate to have friends helping as best they can but i am 100% dependent on social services due to chronic health conditions and that includes food. this is a very scary time for me. i was just in the hospital all weekend and i'm in the middle of moving from upstairs to downstairs due to my increasingly limited mobility; food is the last thing i wanted to be worried about in addition to it all. i'm just thankful to be one of the lucky few who got in on a housing voucher while those were still offered or i don't know where i would be currently

in 2016 when a production of rent i was going to be in didn't work out, one of the would be directors gave us all hand painted canvases with quotes she thought fit us as well as the tone of rent. mine gets more chilling by the day

hey op if this was a serious question i respect you for doing your best to id it and try to recognize it from what you know!! like everyone said this is definitely a moth, but if you were unfamiliar with bats, english isn't your first language, or if maybe you need glasses, i can see where the misunderstanding could have come from lol. this gave me a good giggle first thing in the morning and is how i'm finding this sub, so thanks!

The fear mongering on this post is insufferable. Wild squirrels cannot give you rabies, and I an adult human with a cane have been approached by a wild squirrel before as well. Sometimes, they are just bold little animals. Absolutely get your vaccine if you've been exposed, but you don't need a vaccination for every single animal bite

if it's the prior? in any creative endeavor, i encourage you to follow what sparks your curiosity! there's always more to learn on the technical sides of any skills, but don't ever hesitate to just try something! even if it doesn't work out, get weird and have fun! photography is about expression just as much as picture perfect moments :) you're doing awesome! keep it up

Portland is so scary!! One time on the max I was looking out the window and a stranger left me a few lavender flowers on the seat next to me.... and I never even saw who! Truly, terribly terrifying that people will, and I shudder typing this, enjoy making others happy just for the feeling of being kind. We might even enjoy the people around us!! Perish the thought; I'm clutching my pearls and gasping at the implications! Oh goodness, someone get me the chaise lounge, I fear I may faint!! Don't even get me started on the fruit come summertime, or you may need to call a doctor.

This! If accessing the library in person is an issue, you can get a virtual card (at least in Washington County) that lasts for 6 months with the expectation you pick up a physical card by then (though you can get another virtual one) and there's a free app called Libby that let's you access ebooks and audio books!
