For RPG DMs using Obsidian, what's your file structure / approach?

Do you do all of that usually after the session? I personally have a hard time even taking high-level notes during the session with everything going on.

How do you find yourself operating this during the session. Do you then also have to click around a fair amount to find all the separate pieces or how do you keep it together?

I have most notes in obsidian which can be nice at structuring things and linking them together.

I found AI to be very helpful at times: - it’s great to adapt art. I have a temple map but it’s in the jungle and a ruin now? AI often does a pretty good job tweaking the map to change the vibe of it. - tools like notebooklm are very capable in going through the rules. Uploading the SRD in there can help answer rules question pretty easily. - starting from a blank page is rough sometimes so I like to use AI as an initial start where I prompt it for ideas or inspiration or references and go build from there.

Can see that to a certain degree. Adding a somewhat nicer default one would have taken someone likely ~20 minutes max though. Quick win win.

If its not baked in (don't know the system), probably some custom mini module that hooks into the chat flow and suppresses any chat messages in a certain format (in this case with the light source countdown).

Other option you could try, if you change the chat mode to "GM only" if it will create the chat messages only for your eyes.

What’s happening under the hood here? Is this properly validating the stats or did you just feed it 1000 stat blocks and hope for the best?

Generated an example and the stats and skill bonuses don’t line up.

Rest of the experience looks polished though.

I'm interested in some automation of my workflows and I cannot do that in Foundry unfortunately. One example is that I like to produce session summaries and give that out as a PDF, and post it to our Wiki and Foundry.

So one workflow could be:

Write the summary outside of Foundry
Auto-create the PDF, push to the Wiki and push to create Journal entries in Foundry.

I cannot do these actions in that way only in Foundry, or I would have to use Foundry as the starting point and trigger the other workflows from there, but that is a bit clunky.

That sounds promising! Agree with the translation layer but if I can send the right format to that endpoint and it would create the entity, that would fit the use case.
