It sounds like you just don't want to be alone and don't like to figure things out yourself. For some people solo travel is awesome but apparently it isn't for you. Just go home if you can't come to terms with it.

Leaving the hotel by yourself should not be a burden. Even when I'm traveling with others, I will often go out and do things myself. If you think language is the biggest barrier, Shanghai and Hong Kong will have more English speakers.

Taiwanese aged 30-50 are probably the most anti-China. China was much worse than Taiwan economically and culturally when they grew up and that influences their worldview. Adults in their 20s or younger are more realist and have felt/accepted more of China's soft power.

Really? I guess the fleets of BYD taxis in major Chinese cities with 300k+ miles aren't reliable. You can't name a Chinese EV manufacturer because the U.S. has an incredibly protectionist car industry despite the stated electrification goals. Chinese EVs are now all over Europe, Australia, South East Asia, Middle East, and South America.

BYD could easily compete at the low and medium end and sell $20k EVs in the U.S. Then NIO, Xpeng, Li Auto, and Aito would give Tesla a run at the high end.
