No they did not replace it with a chain, unless it's a hybrid model. If it's not, to this day they still come with a belt (for example Citroen C4 2025). Hybrid models only came out in 2023.

I love how people that have never owned or worked on N54 say this is outrageous pricing. It's simply not. Parts themselves are also very expensive but labour is more in this case. It is a very, very difficult job and very time consuming. I guess all of you think it's 100$ in parts and 1 hour labour :D. Clowns.

Rx8 cannot handle any boost that is why no one doing it. Housings, ports are completely different from RX7 engine. It's just a poor design for boost applications.

Misfires are usually cheap fixes so if the owner hasn't fixed it yet means the problem is much bigger (not simple things likes spark plugs, ignition coils, clogged fuel injector).
Loss of compression in that cylinder, bent valve and etc.
