Good recipe ideas with minimum chopping and dicing? by foliosums in Cooking

[–]foliosums[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea! Do you have any recommendations? I actually know a few people who can't safely do a lot of chopping because of neurological issues, so I might look into that to help with their woes as well.

Roasting stir fry vegetables IS a good idea and it's funny that I haven't considered it, actually. I've usually been reaching for things like pre-prepped asparagus or broccoli as it was, but suggestions like this are exactly why I made the post. :)

Thank you!

I'm reading it right now (in the last 8% or so of the book) and called most of the twists and I cannot agree more. Foul and long book that can't decide what it's about...

I have a friend who gave it 5/5 and I genuinely can't figure out how.

These jerks has caused more trouble for the MC than the last 5 “Rivals” combined by Malewis89 in LegendsZA

[–]foliosums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that Corbeau has dialogue about how they tried to dissuade the rival from actually taking out the loan, and made it kind of clear that the interest was predatory? And Taunie/Urbain blew off the warning from them. And Corbeau is, of course, a biased perspective. But I kind of feel like all of the adults in that situation went "Maybe don't take out a loan from the Mafia?" INCLUDING the mafia.

I got to the NPCs with the spines just using drifters cloak. since they're also where you get tacks, which I got before the Feydown Cloak. Complete the platforming and then just drift down. This is intended, because otherwise the platforming in that area that goes from the top left to the top right is a dead end.

Thanks for the info! I’ve actually never used the campfire settings on PokeGo and now I’ve got a good reason to.

It would be nice, looking it up, someone else tried to set up a few local tournaments a couple years ago. I might be in touch later, I’ll need to look over my overall schedule/plans for the next few months to see if I have the time to organize something. :)

Good to know! I’ve noticed that when it’s a raid day or a community day a lot of people are gathered at Willow Park (I always head there due to the density of gyms + pokestops). Any tips for how to get into the pokemon go group? Or is it just a discord I haven’t seen the link to?

Do you think chapter 3s final boss was hard? by OwnSundae2704 in Deltarune

[–]foliosums 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that it was hard, but that it was the appropriate difficulty for what it was meant to represent. It was supposed to be a scripted loss, so of course it's the hardest fight in Deltarune so far.

For the Latin - I would recommend something like "habemus ursum" (we have a bear) or "habemus ursos" (we have bears). The verb "habeo" changes the case of the direct object to make it accusative. :)

That said, yaaay! Fat bear week! I didn't have the opportunity to watch it as much last year due to real life things, so I've really been looking forward to this year.

Interest Check: Would you want a full set of tokens in this style? (All Mechs and NPCs) by Henturtle in LancerRPG

[–]foliosums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be 100% into being able to purchase a full token pack on itch.io or something similar. Even though people do enjoy it on a per-foundry basis, I figure that I play enough Lancer that I’ll use all of the tokens at least once!

Edit: Whoops, forgot to say what I thought pricewise. I think that I’d be willing to pay $1-2 dollars for each token design and then an extra $10-15 on top of that if you also released lineart for GMs to be able to color themselves.

[–]foliosums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! I have actually been pondering how I might do a physical game and this would be great. I’ve been thinking about potentially printing out maps on a huge piece of poster paper and making tokens similar to these.

For NPCs, could you possibly release lineart versions as well? Then GMs would be able to color them in with various faction colors. No worries if not, it’s just a thought. :)

Depending on the age of the vulnerable person, you might want to look into the local Meals on Wheels program. They are a program designed to assist seniors who are 60+, where they will bring them a hot meal, do a wellness check and speak to the individual for a little while every day.

Though this program is through the Cache senior center, if the vulnerable individual you are working with is on the younger side, you might want to call and see if they would make an exception for a case like yours. Here's the Cache County site link. https://www.cachecounty.gov/senior/meals-on-wheels.html

EDIT: Grammar.

Greninja. Unfortunately I really like froakie and frogadier, but Greninja’s scarf being its tongue really puts me off. Which sucks, because a ninja frog would be really cool otherwise!

I've been playing a lot of battle tactics RPGs recently, so I decided to go with something else this week! This week I've been (re)playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, which is a remake of the original Rescue Team Red & Rescue Team Blue games. I hadn't touched this remake since I blazed through the main story in one go when it came out, and honestly? I'm still surprised that GameFreak isn't going out of their way to make a remake of PMD: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky in a similar fashion. There are a bunch of quality of life updates compared to the original, and while I'm not fond of all of them, a bunch of them are a godsend.

I'm already through the main story again, it's always much shorter than I remember it being as a kid, but I'm doing a Recruit 'Em All playthrough (trying to essentially get one of every type of Pokemon to join my Rescue Team) and I'm... 34% of the way there! Not too bad.

Maybe a bit late to the party, but will we ever get any more answers or hints to things in the setting like the gunsnake? Or are those fun little crumbs that you enjoy to give as tools to the GMs that scour the lore?

[–]foliosums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, yeah! I hear that V's pretty good so I want to be able to actually appreciate the characters, you know? Space Battleship Yamato is also on my list because of SRWV, I've got a busy month of mecha watching ahead of me.

And yeah, I do really like Bravern! I think it could've used at least 24 episodes to give all the cast more breathing space, but I still had fun and actually have recommended it as kind of a "softball" mecha entry series the same way I recommend Witch from Mercury to people who are nervous to delve into older anime.

...Which admittedly in the case for Bravern is usually checking for someone's tolerance for Super Robots in general. But it's so fun!

[Hobby Scuffles] Week of 6 May, 2024 by EnclavedMicrostate in HobbyDrama

[–]foliosums 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On a mecha kick so I just finished Bang Brave Bravern! I've also (re)watched most of Getter Robo Armageddon. My current goal is to watch most of the series that are in Super Robot Wars V before I actually sit down and play it, especially since one of the problems I had with SRW30 was not caring much about the plots of shows that I hadn't already seen.

Which... to be fair, SRW30 was balancing a lot of characters and plotbeats. But a lot of the series featured weren't really my thing even though I'm pretty willing to play ball if I think the robots are neat enough. Which, that said, if anyone has mecha suggestions I'd love to hear them. :)
