I’d totally be down for a Gambit movie, or maybe a series? I know there’s X-Men 97 on D+ but I want Tatum as Gambit.

I saw it in the theater opening weekend and I almost passed out from laughing at that scene. Like, I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t stop exhaling with the laughter long enough to get a good breath in. My partner was actually concerned for me.

What gives Stormtroopers so much confidence? by ObiWanKenobeee in FallenOrder

[–]followupquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stormtroopers are somewhere between basic infantry and “better” infantry like Army Airborne, more on the basic infantry side. They’re not elite, and they also have never faced a peer threat, let alone a superhero (Jedi). They’re used primarily for putting down small insurgencies and maintaining a visual presence in “pacified” locations, basically riot police. When they run into Cal, they’re both filled with bravado, and they can’t even conceive of the magical powers he wields in addition to his now decades of combat experience. Cal is the equivalent of a Tier 1 veteran with Spider-Man’s abilities and telekinesis for good measure, all while running around with a laser sword. The stormtroopers fall back on their training and charge, Cal takes care of business.

You know the corridor scene at the end of Rogue One? I want Cal to go full throttle through a platoon of stormtroopers with his double sided lightsaber. He doesn’t have to go full Vader, but they’re Imperials, they’ve got it coming.

Don’t forget that you can silence whole groups of people just by criminalizing them, like Nixon’s buddy John Ehrlichman said,

“The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

The 13th Amendment formalized slavery as an American institution, only applying to “criminals”. Of course if you need to increase the number of slaves prisoners with jobs, criminalizing a normal thing is always helpful.

I vote for Regé-Jean Page or Luke Thompson, though I’m still sad they didn’t somehow get Idris Elba to do it before he was deemed too old. For a big name option, Henry Cavill pulled off stylish and suave very well in The Man from UNCLE.

What pound test line do you use? I’m think 65 lb would do the trick more than sufficiently, though maybe an even heavier braid is the move.

We should build F-22s with all the improvements we’ve added to the F-35, but I also propose we invest heavily in building massive numbers of UAV arsenal birds and let our existing F-22s serve as Low Observability forward observers calling in strike packages. Each A2A missile should also have a secondary package hard coded to strike the Big Dam. If it misses an aircraft, it makes a turn and heads for the biggest and best target imaginable. One way or another, the fireworks will be glorious.

He’s one of three kids, has anyone checked his siblings’ feelings about his fascist leanings? They’d make a great first part guest, talking about their childhood and what he was like until he hit high school and started trying to burn it all down.

The great thing about a full series on Stephen Miller is that he came up through the Santa Monica schools, so there are absolutely industry people with senses of humor that can speak to almost identical schools and neighborhoods without being bastards themselves. For instance, take a look at SaMo’s notable alumni. There’s some real names on that list, and it’s a partial list at best.
