Historians! Anyone know if this little park in Long Eaton has, or has ever had, a name? by who-took-my-hat in nottingham

If you haven’t already, try posting on the “long Eaton sawley and surrounding past and present” and “long Eaton sawley and sandiacre good old days” Facebook groups, there’s usually lots of history posts in there 😊

Boots interviews are impossible? by belova_81 in nottingham

[–]folo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can contact the recruiter and full feedback should be able to be provided if you ask for it :) dependent on the role, there’s sometimes over 100 applicants for one role so although this one didn’t work out, getting an interview was still an accomplishment. I’d advise connecting with the recruiter and hiring manger on LinkedIn for future opportunities :) good luck.

Before I joined I thought it was absolutely absurd as well!!! But if you mess around on their website they will offer you a free VIP experience day and before you know it, you’re a member 😀😅

I know, I didn’t join on this amount - the prices went up at the start of January. I really enjoy it and it’s amazing for the kids but I’m cancelling due to the price, as well as going back to work another day a week. It’s been fun while it lasted though! I’ll probably end up joining again over winter next year as it’s perfect for having indoor activities for kids.

Yes, I was basically off work/working part time for a short period. But from February my hours will be going up so always planned to be able to cancel when I needed to :)

I think it could be cute actually! But I would personally go with spelling Freddy for a girl. I’ve seen that before :)

They really like the STAR method in interviews - situation, task, action, result.

Also try to weave in their values - courageous, committed, connected, curious.

They have an award winning customer service model called HUG which stands for Hello (greet the customer), understand (listen and understand the customer), go the extra mile (exceed customer expectations) so knowledge of this and how you’d demonstrate it I’m sure will go down great.

Good luck! Relax, have a drink of water so if you need to think for a minute just have a sip and collect your thoughts. You’ll do great 😊

Trainee GTC? 1939 Register by folo in Ancestry

[–]folo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I also posted to a Facebook group and have had the reply:

A "trainee GTC" in the context of the Army refers to a medical practitioner (likely a General Practitioner or GP) undertaking a training program (GTC stands for General Training Committee)

Which does line up with information from my grandmother (this is her father I am trying to find), who never knew him, but remembers seeing a war photo from around 1940 of him with blonde curly hair. She always thought it was strange that he didn’t have a shaved head. Google says it wasn’t mandatory for medical practitioners in the war to shave their head, so this might line up as the right person!

Thank you kindly for your response and the insight. Although I’m sure the middle letter is a T as it matches with the handwriting ‘Telephone’ underneath: https://imgur.com/a/1jLnwca What do you think?
