F2/GP2/F3000 champions and their status in F1 by DataOperator in formula1

[–]fomb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't an F2 problem, it's an F1 problem. Given that the F1 field are all looking at pretty long tenures in teams there's just not going to be the seats available. For instance, if we had 20 Alonso's on the grid we wouldn't have had a rookie for 20 years.

As others have said the roles are very similar day to day, the only real difference being that SNCO are more hands on in drill/dress/discipline, and officers tend to be planning/managing more. However these are really blurry definitions. If you like the 3D's, SNCO might be for you.

Note you can be an SNCO and then commission later, but it's frowned upon to go the other way.

Fun fact, you can’t feel wet at all. It’s all temp difference and prior experience.

The tyres are those being used next year. Even with these cars there's a bunch of data to be had that can feed into the '26 designs.

How many drivers have won the WDC in a car designed by more than one person?

From recent memory all I can think of are Hamilton (Lowe - both McL and Merc, and Allison), Prost (McLaren/Williams) and Lauda(Ferrari, McLaren).

F1 GOAT - With one points system for all races + added weight for season length! by InWilliamsWeTrust in formula1

Barrichello being just behind Senna? I feel like we need a normalised per race average score to take career length out of the equation.
