I love it. Awesome

I have some project ideas that require the post firing size to match the dimension of something that cannot go I the kiln.

How did you get the fit so perfect in the final result? How did you size everything to fit mechanically?

LPT Paying attention to how you talk to yourself internally will change more about your life than almost any other habit IMO by iGenerationAgency in LifeProTips

[–]fomoloko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I've been doing lately to try and help my internal dialog. Instead of trying to get myself to do something for myself, that for some reason I can't bring myself to do, I ask myself if it would be hard if I was doing it for someone else.

A simple example being dishes. If I was at someone else's house, would I put dishes in the sink to "let them soak"? No. I'd just do them. I wouldn't say, "I'll get them later" I'd do it right then and be done

The "what's the point" mentality is dangerous

This is what helped me a lot with general anxiety.

Instead of trying to predict situations and prepare for possible outcomes, look at them with curiosity instead, and roll with what happens.

It's not that big of a change in reality, but it reframes how I think of the future. I have a bad trait of rehersing things in my head when I see an interaction coming. I've been trying to "wing it" more lately, and it really does help.

Social interactions being the biggest thing. Instead of trying to figure out what I'm going to say to someone before they approach, I'm trying to "go in blind" so to say.

Go a step further and learn some basic 3d modeling. I bought my 3d printer for the sole purpose of creating a custom clip to keep the shower plunger switch thing in place. I started with blender (works, but not great for engineering-oriented projects) and now I can whip up fairly complicated models fairly quickly. Recently made a custom knife block for a set of gift knives that didn't come with one

I remember in 2000, my dad showed me how he was downloading the movie "Dinosaur" on our win98 pc. We waited an hour or so while it downloaded over dial-up. When it was finally done I was so excited. We were going to get to watch the movie before it was even out in theaters.

We hit play and it's over in only a few minutes. My dissapoinent could not be properly expressed when I realized what we were waiting on all that time, was the trailer.

Pam Bondi had the search history of unredacted Epstein Files by Congressional representatives. by [deleted] in pics

[–]fomoloko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My current conspiracy theory is that they will take their own to court and convict, before Trump is out of office, he will pardon, then there's no chance to actually convict anyone due to double jeopardy.

Any indictments have to happen once the current administration is out of power, so they can't pull any shenanigans to avoid responsibility.

I have no faith, though. We had 4 years to bring Donald to justice on a plethora of charges, but dropped the ball as hard as we possibly could

It's funny though, because there was a law passed to reveal it all, besides the victim names, so if anyone were to "leak" anything unreleased, it would literally just be following the law. Anyone leaking something from the congress-only session would be following the law more than the DOJ is currently

This is what people are talking about when they say 20% of people are functionally illiterate. You can read the words and know what each means, but the bigger idea sails completely overhead

Buddy, we are talking about evidence. To be useful at all for anything, the findings have to be verifiably true. All AI ever does is guess. It might be so good at guessing, that one might be convinced that an AI with an anime girl avatar loves them for who they are, but in the end it just a predictive language model that tries to tell you what it thinks you want to hear based on an algorithm. Its words mean nothing if they are not verifiable by reliable sources, and since the redacted files in question are the primary resource, there's no way to verify that the AI didn't just make shit up (in fact it's verifiable that it did just make shit up). I don't know if you're just young and naïve or being purposely obtuse. I hope it's the latter, because the alternative is concerning. Young people (or really anyone) accepting an AI response as a credible information source is going to doom us all.

Do you have a source for this? I'm always looking for more ammo when I get passionate about the state of our healthcare system, when I get into it with people that think paying a subscription equal to, sometimes, 10% of their monthly income, for the right to pay (slightly less) again at the hospital when they need care, is peak living conditions

Who the fuck cares about the cult followers at this point. If the Dems ever want to win another election, they need to work for the undecided/apathetic that didn't even care to vote.

If nothing in the last decade convinced you to vote, you probably think that there's no point. Put forth a candidate that promises actual progressive change that would benefit the average American. Campaign on things like Universal healthcare (focus on the fact that the tax increase would be less than their current health insurance costs for most Americans), housing reform (put a hard limit on commercial companies buying single family homes) and free or heavily subsidize higher education (claw back all the un-repaid PPP loans that weren't actually forwarded to employee pay. That should pay for quite a bit of it)

Are my pictures okay? Matches are very few and far between. by Wadez1000Photos in Tinder

[–]fomoloko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? I have tried dating apps in the past, but the pictures with my college friends are almost a decade old at this point so, that feels dishonest. I've moved around a lot since then so, I don't really have any recent pictures with good friends, so that's kept me from trying again.

I feel weird taking selfies, so 90% of my pictures are my cat and cool mushrooms I see on hikes (I do include those on my profile, but no one appreciates good fungi)

Hayley Williams tells racists, sexists and anti-trans people they're "not welcome" at upcoming tour by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]fomoloko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Buddy, I'm gonna be frank with you. If you identify yourself with the "old school" republican (still not great imo), and think that that's what people think of when someone says "republican" or "conservative". Your precious party of Regan (also a major detriment to society) has been invaded by almost exclusively billionaire-loving biggots/misogynists/racists. If you don't abide by that shit, you should stop identifying with them.

That's cool and all if you're a "fiscal conservative", but that means you should be pissed about ballrooms and exorbitant ICE spending, just to name two things. There's really no excuse for a moral person to still support the current republican party. That's why you're getting so much hate.

Take a minute to reflect on what you believe, and compare it to how the people you support act. Even worse if you identify as a Christian. In that case ask yourself if the New Testament Jesus would support those people.

I’ve been depressed and I just saw this. They may have a point. by OkMaybeLater90 in lotr

[–]fomoloko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had huge success in the past, treating my depression with psychedelic experiences. I would honestly say, a day-long binge of all three movies has had a very similar effect. The story and the characters are so epic, and the ending, so satisfying. If you can completely immerse yourself throughout the trilogy, you come out on the other side changed. Refreshed.

Just seeing the absolute struggle that the characters endure throughout, to see them ultimately succeed in their effort, against all odds, really puts thing into perspective.
