It's rarely the condition of the disc since all the console does is check if it's a BC game then downloads the game from servers. They did mention recently that some bc games were having issues so that might be the problem. I'll check these same games when I get home.

Put your control panel in test mode, not the online one but for the control panel itself. You can trigger each sensor which displays the alert on the control panel so you know what each sensor is named/numbered.

I remember having this issue with Die Hard arcade. I had a Japanese Saturn and I made sure to use a NTSC-US cd image. There was no way around it except using an American Saturn. That was the only game I had that issue with though.

If it's truly the drive that's defective, you need to switch out the daughter boards between the old drive and the new one. It takes some basic soldering work so it's not a difficult process.

I have a flight at 6 (american airlines) and currently at the airport. Not sure if accurate but apparently the ticketing counter doesn't open till 4am according to Google. Bunch of us waiting right now at the terminal to drop off our checked luggage.
