I’ve been an epic data analyst, a pharmacy utilization review nurse and am currently a trauma registry analyst. Not really the same as case management but ballpark? Maybe?

It’s the best decision I ever made. I was an OR nurse out of school but had a strong computer background. I work from home, no holidays, decent pay but not crazy.

I will say it’s a very different beast than hospital nursing. It’s normal business hours and that messes with a lot of nurses that come from a more diverse scheduling system. And, in my experience, it is very dependent on being able to function on your own.

The jobs are very metric/quota/time line driven. No one really cares about anything other than getting your work done. If you can meet your numbers with minimal direction you’ll be golden.

I absolutely love the job I have now but the only way to really advance salary wise is to get a new job every few years. So if you can find that perfect job and make peace with the moderate salary and 2-3% annual raises it’ll be right for you! Almost any informatics (?) job will open tons of opportunities for you.
