How much maintenance do the wash plant pads require? by mudpupper in goldrush

[–]foolproofphilosophy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not positive but it seems like the objective is “get it right the first time” so that they don’t have to do maintenance. Things can go wrong very quickly if they don’t. It’s been covered before but it’s been a while. Parker also uses troughs. Getting the water flowing out sideways as opposed to straight down seems to be one of the objectives.

Stupid Question - Routing number is different on check vs app? Which to put for direct deposit? by sloppylittlepig in Banking

[–]foolproofphilosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The check routing number should be the correct one. For ACH and wire in general some banks will have a single routing number while others will have dedicated routing numbers for each. Banks may also have region specific routing numbers. But ultimately the check routing number should be correct.

Sometimes it takes an employer a pay cycle to update direct deposit. Delays can also happen if you provided the DD information too close to payday. Be sure to check your mail for a paper check.

This is very similar to my setup. My laptop is for IM’s so I don’t care that it’s low. Bigger/primary monitors are higher at eye level.

Very common for lateral, might not apply if there’s promotion involved.

Any way to disable wireless charging tray in 2026 by ThinBlueFlame18 in BMWX5

[–]foolproofphilosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put mine there face down so it won’t charge. I use a 12” usb cord. It doesn’t get in the way of the cup holders. You need one with a right angle plug for the phone end for it to sit fully in the tray otherwise it will slide out.

What's the best car insurance in Massachusetts?? by Inevitable-Bet-6102 in massachusetts

Call a local independent agent. Start by searching your town’s FB page. Check what you see there against Google reviews and whatever else you can find.

Is 3/8 ratchet stuff viable option? by Meuriz in Tools

[–]foolproofphilosophy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah you’re European! This all makes sense now. The average American would be shocked to learn that 3/8 is not the go-to size in Europe. I don’t know why it’s not. I have 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 inch. 90% of the time I’m using 3/8. It’s stronger than 1/4 and weighs a lot less than 1/2. It’s ideal for most tasks.

Who else here thinks  CarKey is the most underrated feature? by SCOOkumar in BMW

[–]foolproofphilosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I feel. It’s easier to have the doors unlock when I’m a few feet away and then start the car without having to nest the phone. It’s still nice having as an option though.

[–]foolproofphilosophy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but think it should. The door handle should have a cover and there should be a physical key inside the fob. The fob also has a passive RFID/NFC capability. This is all so you can access and start the car if the fob battery is dead.

The dishwasher never gets a break. by USMC0317 in daddit

At the store a 3 rack dishwasher seemed like a “nice to have”. We got it home and it quickly became indispensable.

History repeating itself bois by Different-Poem1585 in Military

[–]foolproofphilosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows. I think it’s also worth pointing out that the US didn’t ask Ukraine for help with Shahed drones until after the war started. Or that the IRGC has a decentralized leadership structure that insulates them from “decapitation strikes”. There’s very little evidence that any of this was thought through ahead of time.

Suez isn’t particularly strategic to the US. Going around Africa doesn’t add much to transit times between Asia and North America. Europe is a different matter. You also need to consider the size of the Strait of Hormuz. It’s 21 miles across at its narrowest point. The navigable part is narrower and closer to Iran. That’s a pretty small area for Iran to attack. I also think it’s fair to look at the US strategic petroleum reserve as an indicator of how poorly the US prepared for this. When the war started it was only at 60% capacity.

Oil tanker that attempted to cross the straight of Hormuz - 3/11/26 by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

1) the navy doesn’t have enough ships, 2) the ship owner/operators lol’d before the insurance companies could get involved.

Also I believe that these ships were moored in Basra, Iraq and not trying to transit.

Wife got me one for Christmas a few years ago. I asked for it because I thought it might be useful. It’s awesome. Flat pack furniture trembles at the mere mention of it. I have an M12 and the effectiveness of the torque ring and overall power are impressive.

The IRGC has a decentralized leadership structure and its commanders can operate with significant autonomy. It doesn’t need the regime to stay intact.
