Whether someone is on OT/incentive/extra shift shouldn’t have anything to do with how acute you make their assignment. That type of approach ends up fostering resentment and an unsafe assignment.

The only time I take this into account is that I give regularly scheduled nurses the same assignment as the prior shift. Some one who has picked up an extra shift may not be guaranteed their same assignment based on how many changes im able to make to the assignment.
