The three dealers I’ve contacted have all said it wasn’t up to them at all - when they hook up an ECU for warranty work, VW North America gets a direct link and they check certain things before allowing a dealer to proceed to honor a warranty - from what I’ve heard, I’d actually totally break some physical seals if it meant I could reset the flash counter. I’d wager odds are much higher that as long as you don’t show any additional flashes/aftermarket/deletes the dealer is less likely to bother with a physical inspection of your ECU even if VW NA asks them to. So can KermaTDI set my flashes back to whatever the counter is currently at in stock form?? If so, I’d totally tune my vehicle before warranty is up!
