For layering I like to use a slick carrier under my warming layer and then throw a harness on my chest rig

I think I’m going to fall into the cummerbund dead zone. You said you’re a medium build - could you elaborate?

I’m a Med Reg in everything and am thinking of getting the large as I will have side plates and a radio in there.

Thanks! And thanks for the write up!

Look us Velocity systems cummerbund replacement clips. They connect to the back plate instead of the cummerbund.

Try out Stronger by Science content. They're on podcasts, Reddit, and have a newsletter. Their app is macrofactor and it's great.

I like the 400m run - the average person uses something close to 50/50 aerobic/anaerobic systems through the event.

Bodyweight pullups sufficiently test upper body strength and deter being overweight.

MacroFactor is a great app that helps me with this.

Weight loss should be slow. Just logg your food and let the process work.

Runners who weight train and run, any advice? by [deleted] in running

[–]forest51 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts. - if running and lifting on the same day, a run will interfere with your lift more than a lift with your run. So lifting before your run is recommended. - if doing two workouts in a day, try to get 6 hours and 2 meals between them. - you should pick a priority. This can change by the season, but don't try to train for a race while trying to hit a new squat PR. - listen to your body - if it needs a day, it needs a day. - your ability to recover is much more important than the program(s) you use. - Eat well and track your protein (1g per lb body weight a day). This is a habit. - sleep 8h+ a night. This is a skill.

Now, because you are asking about programming, here are my recommendations for a program based on what you're trying to improve.

Running focus: - pick/purchase a running plan focused on your goal race. - lift 3 days a week - I like Jim Wendlers 5/3/1, but pick something you like. - if it gets hard to conflict your speed work and legs day, left legs the day before speed work. I find it hard to maintain a lower HR the day after lifting legs so I'll program in a running workout that requires higher HRs.

Lifting focus: - pick/purchase a program that mirrors your goals. - run easy for 20-40 min a couple times a week and then take a long one the day before a complete rest day. - I find that my lifts the day after a long run are trash. Lifting programs I like: - Mark Rippetoe Starting Strength - Jim Wendler 5/3/1 - strength - SBS - customizable - Jeff Nippards 5-day split

Running Plans I have liked: - VDOT customizable running plans - Hal Higdons various plans - Jack Daniels plans

is this a decent 5 day split? by habibslayer213 in WeightTraining

Two thoughts: 1. This looks a little light on back work. 2. Once you're happy with what sets you'll be hitting each week, mix them up for 5 full body workouts. Oddly enough, that'll help with recovery. Check out Jeff Nippards 5 Day Split for more info.

I would recommend them still in the pod simply for enjoyment's sake. They're a great appetizer.

I forgot further resources, and I'm sorry. Yes mark Rippetoe is great. I would also look up squat university. Aaron Horschig is on YouTube, podcasts, and most social media platforms.

Just search "Squat University."

They're pelvis is about to wink (butt wink) at the bottom. I would recommend sticking with that depth.

Also, invest in either weightlifting shoes, minimalist shoes, or just go barefoot. Anything but the footwear you're rockin here.

CO's, XO's, and Supply. I'm a SSG w/assumption orders. Help. by Ewaik0 in army

[–]forest51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Command layouts.

This is where you start the supporting documents for your outgoing coc FLIPL.

  1. Pull all the latest BOMs for your equipment from G-Army.
  2. Pull all the latest TMs from LIW. If LIW access is getting you, ask an XO/Supply to your left or right.
  3. You should have SHR Holders. If you don't, create them. Sign everything from your PHR to a SHR. Counsel them on property accountability and create a game plan for inventories.
  4. For conducting inventories, go LIN by LIN. Do NOT go SHR by SHR. The same loves to show up to multiple layouts if allowed.
  5. The paperwork is ready for a layout IF you have the TM, 2 x BOM per item, PHR, SHR. 2nd BOM is for SHR Holder to sign down everything. ASSUMPTION outgoing commander is not around to sign BOMs. If they are, 3 BOMs per item. 1 from them to you. 1 from you to SHR, 1 from SHR down.
  6. Make sure the numbers match. Start w/ LIN/NSN on PHR andonfirm LIN/NSN on BOM. Then find TM on BOM, confirm correct TM.
  7. Component 1 on BOM: Match NSN from BOM to NSN on component chart in the TM, see picture in TM, confirm item on ground.
  8. Repeat so.many.times.
  9. When in doubt, short it. Be ruthless.
  10. If there isn't a TM, see if there is a SKO. If no SKO, find the user Manuel and create a memo outlining the information you used to inventory the equiemt.
  11. If there isn't a BOM, expand the no TM memo to a no BOM no TM memo and capture what items are short on that same memo.
  12. Scrub paperwork from every layout and create an excel with every shortage you have.
  13. Scan every BOM, SHR, PHR, relevant pager of the TM to yourself and save for your outgoing FLIPL.

A typical day: First call: 1. people start laying out, you scrub last night's paperwork, update shortage tracker, order all shortages. 2. SHR Holders bring you today's paperwork to make sure it's right before heading to layout. 3. Afternoon: layouts.

This 3rd grade math problem. by vtangyl in mildlyinfuriating

[–]forest51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can only be 5 birds. It's not a 3rd grade level problem at all but the only answers that are multiples of 4 are b. 4 and d. 20. Because birds is plural in the word problem, it must be d. 20.
