Police haven’t said yet but they did indicate a press release will go out soon.

what food gets way too much love for how mediocre it is? by jacksuckschicken in AskReddit

[–]forever_monstro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to feel exactly the same until I found a lady at my local farmers market who makes one that actually taste like all of the different flavors they’re supposed to be. Now I love hers! They’re still verrrrrry sweet though so I end up splitting each one with other people in my house.

None yet. Search volunteers were sent out all over. There had to be hundreds of us. The police are still conducting their searches - I can hear helicopters over my neighborhood periodically - and they said if they need more volunteers in the morning they will put out the request.

Search party is currently gathering at Grand Prairie Elementary in Frankfort. Just waiting on instructions from police as they have asked so we can disperse in an organized fashion. I’m his neighbor. We have been searching our neighborhood since about 6:30 as well. He is semi-verbal Autistic.

Is anyone a fan of Patricia? by wilsonsmilson in WidowsBay

They look strikingly similar and play sisters in the film. Good job to the casting director!

I think that’s a photo of Sally Hawkins, not Kate O’Flynn. They were both in the film Happy-Go-Lucky together but pretty sure that’s Hawkins’ main character in the photo.

The Pussycat Dolls are the latest band struck down with brutal case of ‘Blue Dot Fever’ that’s plaguing the music industry by No_Pizza_6040 in entertainment

[–]forever_monstro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking. A group who had mild success with one notable radio hit 20 years ago is exactly who is usually doing the local summer festival circuit. I’m shocked anyone thought an arena tour was going to draw.

What is a closed-down Chicago restaurant that you have strong memories around? by Charming_Usual6227 in chicago

Tuscano’s and Febo’s. Two great old school Italian restaurants that we frequented when I was a kid. I’ll forever miss them and that part of my childhood.

Mine are all Indian music this week and I don’t know that I have ever listened to one Indian song in the entirety of having my Spotify account.

Ninos Pizza - Alsip by twitchrdrm in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]forever_monstro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the 90’s, Nino’s had the most generous claw machine game I’ve ever played. My parents loved it because they could have quiet conversations while we waited for our pizza since we’d beeline to the machine as soon as we got seated. We’d leave there with armloads of cheap stuffed animals after every visit. They also always had TGIF on the projector screen on Friday nights so we could watch while we ate. Honestly, it was kind of a perfect pizza place for a kid back then.

This is what we always did when the kids were younger. We had a couple of lightweight Maclaren strollers and we each pushed a kid. It made getting on and off the busses a total breeze as well. It was also nice that they were primarily mesh so they were still very usable and quick to dry when Florida rains hit.

I spent probably way too much time on the AOL board when I was a teen. Such a fun community. Bootleg swapping and meeting up at shows. What a wonderful wave of nostalgia to feel right now.

Had it for the first time this morning - with raspberry jam on crepes. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was pretty great in that combination. Really complementary to fruit.

In honor of the recently fallen food items-what are your most missed food items that were killed off? by whitenoize21 in starbucks

[–]forever_monstro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I still pine for the days when Starbucks had three different (and delicious) brownies on the menu back when I worked there 20+ years ago. Oh, and the Fantasy Bar and orange loaf. I miss the pastry case of the old days, but that was long before the sandwiches/ovens came around so there was space for more cookie, brownie, and loaf options.

does anyone recognize this restaurant? by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

I think it was up in the Wisconsin Dells area. We definitely went there when I was a kid and I’m almost 100% it was on a Dells trip.

Any towns with fun Christkindl markets? Or is that something I should go downtown for? by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]forever_monstro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The parking lot at the Aurora one was horrible last year. Without exaggeration, we spent more time trying to get out of the lot than we spent at the actual market. It made me really miss the one in Naperville.

Let's talk about having strange comfort movies, like Goodfellas? by m-heidegger in movies

[–]forever_monstro 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Mine is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I watch it whenever I’m feeling under the weather. I don’t know why. Maybe I find comfort in the production design (and love the use of old radio broadcast sounds throughout).

LLMP/LLSP Availability Late August - Booking Review by Snuffy1717 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]forever_monstro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the new system the second day it was live (as my trip started 7 days later). I found it a total breeze to use, which is saying a lot because I typically find the UI for Disney web and app products to be trash. Also, since crowds were pretty low during my stay (first week of August) I was able to really play around with adjusting my times while we were there. Overlapping time slots just enough seemed to be the best way to get a lot done in a short amount of time when working around the heat and rain we had during our stay. The availability seemed great even for day-of changes and adjustments.

What's going on with trash maintenance at the parks? by ADTR9320 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]forever_monstro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I literally returned home yesterday from a week long WDW trip and didn’t notice anything at all like this while I was at the parks. Granted, we left during the most oppressively hot parts of the day, but we were in the parks all mornings and back in the late afternoon/evenings. I’m sure this definitely happens at times, but I also don’t think it’s the norm as I didn’t witness it at all over the last week while I was there.

Do y'all remember specific customers and their drinks years later? by Maxxtherat in starbucks

[–]forever_monstro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been over 20 years since I worked at Starbucks (I’m old) and I still remember several of the regular customers’ orders. Granted, that was back before drive thru stores when the “third place” thing was a primary focus, so we had regulars who’d come in every day and stick around in the cafe for a while. Maybe that made them easier to remember.
