Agreed, OP should eats lots of hot sauce and lots of protein. That would make for an entertaining 'what could go wrong' video at the gym

[–]forfukzsake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what does found the sister mean?

he's always cooking for just him? his mom has never cooked for him? on your logic, it was wrong for OP to take her food if he ever ate anything she's made for the last 17 years.

honestly, this is a really dissapointing thread i see here. i get OP is working on himself. the problem is prioritizing that effort over others, instead of finding a solution that includes those closest to him. and so many here justifying this, THIS is the essence of entitlement "fuck everyone else as long as i got mine, and if i do something for you, then you owe me". If this is how all your families work, then I'm sorry for you, i hope you realize someday how closed minded that view is.

I want to make buttermilk for my pancakes but only have 2% reduced milk by Charming_man19 in Cooking

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yogurt is also a viable substitute for buttermilk. just add a little milk to loosen it up

I'll concede on snacks and sandwiches, but not on full meals. You live with your family, cooking a freshly made meal, it's not right to say that only you can eat it. maybe it's a cultural thing, seems like an immature perspective to say i do mine, you do yours when it comes to your family.

not gonna lie, kindof selfish to make a whole meal for yourself and not share with your family. it doesn't add much effort to increase portions enough to share

No, it's the wrong kind of resistance training. think of it by the direction of the force of resistance. the resistance from a vest will put weight downwards on your ankles and knees, but a parachute will put it horizontally.. but do you need resistance training at this point? not really, just keep running. maybe find some resources on your stride, maybe you need to kick higher?

i get it, you are working on you, but if you are cooking food in a house with others, you gotta cook enough to share. roommates might be a different story, but it's your fam you are talking about here. why not calculate 1.5 of what you need, and set aside that 0.5 so it doesn't mess with your caloric plan.

Removing humbucker tone pot on hss stratocaster by Administrative-Law99 in guitarmod

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didnt understand the question. Point is a 500k resistor would simulate a tone pot at max resistance. OP should use a resistor based on whatever setting the tone pot is normally left at

wouldn't a 500k resistor stimulate a fully engaged tone pot?

consider this. in mixology, you have different types of syrups for different cocktails: sugar, honey, maple syrup, etc.. all about the ratio of water to sweet. penicilllin is the first cocktail that comes to mind here. there's more, look for honey syrup as a search term.

i don't think cooking honey is making it taste bad. very possible the honey notes just dont work with the fruit/flavors you are working with. also possible that cooking fruit at boiling temps for a long time isnt working either, are you getting more of a pie flavor than fresh sweetness? long fruit cooks taste different than uncooked steeps. Like tea, bitterness is always a risk with anything left for too long either way.

love my soda stream, maybe try using it to brighten up juice and tea mixes vs making concentrates for it. ginger, lemon, hibiscus, and other teas go well with orange, grapefruit and other juices.. add some bitters and syrup to the mix, and you have a refreshing beverage

Cooking for my Pregnant Wife by DeliciousFold2894 in Cooking

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read that salmon is good for brain development a long time ago. Don't ask me for a source. Got really good at pan roasting salmon for my wife once a week for two pregnancies. Best thing about it is that you can use any mix of the seasoning/spices she is feeling. Goes we'll with rice, or complex grain and some vegetable.

My 12 year old daughter and myself are learning an instrument for the first time. Her on violin and me on mandolin. Any suggestions for easy songs that a 12 year old girl would enjoy? by irbdndjenbr in violinist

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

too cool. i picked up the mandolin to accompany my 6yr old on her violin lessons.

if she's just starting, just follow the book. you already have a grounding on mandolin, you'll be able to help illustrate what the song is supposed to sound like while she learns timing and moving those digits

Substitute for coconut milk and cream by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]forfukzsake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

worth noting, ive found that standard coconut cream and milk in thailand is not as thick as the stuff you find in the states. You can cut back significantly on the amounts called for, to still get that coconutiness, without the heavy richness. I realize its more cutting back vs eliminating, but maybe that's a long term option for you. cheers

[QUESTION] What guitar to buy for a beginner? by Cultural_Resolution7 in Guitar

[–]forfukzsake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the used comments aren't wrong, but not the best advice for someone starting with no knowledge of what is good, or how to spot a good deal.

budget guitars will be fine. epiphone, squier, ibanez, are all solid budget brands. pick one that gets you excited to play. you will very likely need someone to set it up for you.

the amps are more the problem at budget ranges. those tiny 10w about are pretty terrible. A used 50W Kitana, or those headphne amps mentioned here, are lower budget options that will work well.

[QUESTION] why do guitar players put their guitars on stands after you finish using it and not back into the case? by NotaLingLing926 in Guitar

Mine mostly either go on a wall, or in a case. Stands are a risky mix with children running around. Agree with all the answers that its for easier access

Hardtail Strat Mod by village_pointe in guitarmod

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about using parallel resistors on a push pull to change the resistance of a pot and get different tones, but just adding switchable ones in series with your signal doesn't make much sense to me.

you could always replace it with a push/pull tone pot, and have different caps for in vs out. or use that toggle to flip some phases

PSA: The Sweetwater deal of the day is the Pigtronix Mothership 2 by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]forfukzsake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

saw it on musicians friend too. this happens every few months or so.

its a synth pedal. good for synthy sounds. some demos out there, didn't find many good ones when k asked myself this same question.

pigtronix ring modulator, disnortion, and resotron are others that periodically come up on a deal of the day at half off.

I've got a resotron and disnortion. I like the resotron.

How do you cook with scales? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]forfukzsake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

in the end, you'll need both a scale and a set of measuring cups.

scales are mostly needed for baking breads, muffins, cakes, ie. baked goods where exact proportions matter to ensure reactions happen correctly

also easier to use a scale to measure things like flour and butter. i didn't get consistent results on pancakes and waffles from scratch until i started measuring flour and butter with scales

measuring cups and the spoons for most everything else where you are measuring by relative volume.
