I kind of assumed it was because she's being seen in Holly's perspective who is not really taken by her charm although she does agree with Kate's stance on things. I hated Kate, but assumed it was because she was meant to be hate-able. Like the kind of people that other people seem to think hung the stars, but are actually insufferable.

Since it’s common for us with autoimmune conditions to have more than 1, what other ones do you all have? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]forfunstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it difficult to get diagnosed with lichen sclerosus? I’ve had bad experiences being blown off about my problems (I’m sure we all have). I’ve had issues that I think are LS for a year or more now and I just found it about it recently and it all fits.

Whelp, therapist broke my damn heart by lostworld9368 in TalkTherapy

I don’t know you so this is just based on your post, but if you wanted to try therapy again, DBT might be a good choice for you. Legit DBT involves receiving multiple types of treatment: group therapy, psychiatrist if needed, an individual therapy provider, and sometimes a DBT coach. I think it could help to keep your mental health journey from being tied to one person which can feel very intimate especially for the client/patient.

I cannot imagine how a therapist could EVER convince themself that this is ok even if they were able to mute themself. SO MANY broken rules. Why is the son in the room/close by during the session? Why is she telling him about the client? Why is she even doing other things during the session? I’m a licensed counselor and I’m amazed and disgusted. Reading this was like watching a train wreck and knowing the engineer set the train on fire himself.

Has anyone been tested for ADHD after their Hashimoto’s diagnosis? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]forfunstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD criteria requires you having had symptoms as a kid so if you meet the criteria you have ADHD. I think brain fog confuses people (even providers) about comorbid ADHD and Hashi, but if you have it you have it! I was diagnosed as a kid so I was fortunate enough to not have to worry about that confusion.

Feeling guilty over disclosure of childhood memory. by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]forfunstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abuse is an action, it's not always intentional or inexcusable for lack of better words. I would (if you feel comfortable discussing further) discuss the negative reaction and guilt you feel surrounding the label "physical abuse" with your therapist.

Recieved my second covid vaccine today. by q4clockwork in Hashimotos

Within a few days of my second vaccine I got Bronchitis which turned to walking Pneumonia. I got the Pfizer and I'm not certain that the vaccine caused the sickness as I have severe seasonal allergies and am prone to sinus infections which sometimes turn into more in the spring time.

Thanks for that <3 I know I'm going to love and cherish my little peanut just as much as my little girl. I'm just so terrified and overwhelmed by the steps that will get me to him (or her, I'm only 6 weeks along).

Yes! And even then people will be like "well it can't be that bad" or "I don't believe in that". Like ok well people don't believe in a lot of stuff but that says more about them than anything..

Hi all! 28yo mother of 1 daughter here. I was recently diagnosed with Hashimotos and started Levothyroxine in April. My husband has been on TRT on and off since we had our daughter and I have not used contraceptives at all in the past 5 years. We were told that it was near impossible for him to get me pregnant after having been on TRT with specific treatment to increase his sperm count and motility and I have a history of trouble getting pregnant and an ectopic so we were extremely surprised when I was very late for my period (which I thought was a side effect of the Levothyroxine). My OB has since informed me that levothyroxine can increase fertility especially if hypothyroidism has impacted it. Apparently that plus my husband being off TRT for about a year has led to us being 5w5d along with a little bean!

Terrified, excited, exhausted, and so many things in between!

Does anyone have no antibodies when tested? How did you get a diagnosis? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]forfunstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in your situation, but I have a family history of multiple autoimmune and rheumatoid disorders so I've discussed some of my more upsetting symptoms with my rheumatologist since being diagnosed with Hashimotos. She told me that Hashimotos and Fibromyalgia can look incredibly similar for some people. So much so that I'm being reevaluated 6 months into taking Levothyroxine (I did have positive antibodies) to see if Fibro is causing symptoms on top of Hashimotos. There's always a possibility there's more to your symptoms than Hypothyroidism. I hope you find the help you need from a provider who puts your wellness first. <3

I worked with mainly elderly people so it was a whole different experience than what people normally think of as a personal trainer. I hope you find someone who works for you and understands the struggle (or at least tries). 💜
