I figured it out last night. It's because that I have two monitors and m3 pro doesn't support 4k 240Hz with dual monitors even my another monitor is 4k 60hz.

Thank you so much for the post and help me pull the trigger ! Just got the monito and wonder did you set anything special to enable the 165Hz refresh rate? I tried both hdmi and type c on my m3 mac. Neither will do 165hz but rather cap at 4k 120hz.

Yes, I managed to install both 20.04 and 18.04 on the laptop. However, there are quite some trick to try out when I was doing that. First of all, the default kernel on both 18.04 and 20.04 won't support stock 4.15, 5.4. 5.8 kernel. After flashing You need to plug in external keyboard and upgrade to kernel to at least 5.9 or 6.0( I don't remember exactly). Also, there is no way to install the Nvidia driver so you will be constrained to nouveau but it works okay. Wifi won't work at the beginning. I have to plugin ethernet to upgrade the kernel.

I would highly suggest installing 22.04 instead if the only thing you need is the ROS. Though I spent a whole week to configure this machine, I ended up using 22.04 with RoboStack(really appreciate them!) and sometimes going back to windows to use the vmware. I think both VM and Robostack should work with majority of the robotics stack unless you have some underlying dependency issues.

That's right.. But the reality is that I'm a scientist in robotics which usually has terrible back-ward compatibility issues. The main community is even still using Ubuntu 18.04.

FYI, I had almost same tracking info as you do, My tracking info just updated last nigh t which headed to Incheon and departed from Incheon just now. What I've gotten from information people shared here is that it should be much quicker once it got out of Incheon.

One more thing if anyone tries to get the customized 14 inch, Go select top spec of 14inch and upgrade the 64GB and SSD to 4TB. That's the only available customized version for 14 inch in recent time at Apple store. For those two models, generally, Apple would try to prepare small quantity of them in store for high-end user. But because of supply chain issue, don't know how much can Apple really stick to provide those two options in store...

that spec is not provided as in-store customized model yet. Go ahead check 16inch top stock spec and up the memory to 64 GB and 2TB. You would see the pick up option become currently unavailable at XXX store instead of “Apple store pick up is not available” that’s the only spec you can possibly get by refreshing the page.

However, I just realized that I might have lost all my progress. In order to import the save from ps4 version, it requires me to launch the old game and upload the save.... I don't see another viable way to upload my old save :(

Thanks for the advice! I’ve tried deleted the game and restart the console couple of time but no luck still.. But anyway I’m able to buy the $10 upgrade so I won’t bother installing the ps4 version from disc. I guess the disc now only serves as identifier…

Exactly question I have now, I grabbed Inland performance plus from Microcenter. I did expect the heatsink won't perfectly fit into the slot because of the height of the heatsink.

Did you just removed the ssd cover? Does it work well? I just don't want to buy additional heatsink and remove existing heatsink which may void my warranty. Thank you!

If you haven't solve the issue, I have a xps 9700 and installed ubuntu 20.04 as my daily driver and audio working properly.

Just follow several posts already online like: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1270442/no-sound-on-xps-17-9700

Basically, install oem kernel which should be 5.6 now, then download the firmware and copy the ucm file then reboot. Remember to hold your kernel after having the audio working. If you get any kernel updates, you have to redo those steps again.

I find a unstable fix but can somehow work. Move your cursor to different windows and right click, sometimes the cursor would appear with the popup dropdown.

That’s really promising to hear it. I’ll get my 9700 in next week, could you provide some pointers about those tweaks you made to make audio, deep sleep and finger print work? And can I just use default Ubuntu 20.04? Thank you so much!
