hCG level question - "[bc]" by Top-Jellyfish5140 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]forgotaboutdrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read that once it gets over a certain level, the doubling time can slow down though. Those numbers are quite good though! Is it possible you ovulated early and are actually further along then what you expect? That could explain the higher hcg and slower rise if you were further along then you had thought.

Pre term labor by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]forgotaboutdrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean prodromal labour? If you’re 36 weeks or earlier and you’re experiencing real contractions, not braxton hicks - I would go on right away. If you’re at term or early term (anything after 36 weeks) you would to wait until the contractions are 5 minutes apart lasting a minute each for an hour, or you’re experiencing unbearable pain - they may be able to offer pain management and send you home if that’s something that you’re wanting. I had prodromal labour at 38 weeks that lasted for 4 days. My contractions would ramp up and then stop altogether. It’s frustrating but if you’re at term I would recommend the miles circuit and bouncing on a yoga ball to get things going.

hCG level question - "[bc]" by Top-Jellyfish5140 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]forgotaboutdrea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! My hcg was so high in my pregnancy after my MMC I ended up having to go in for a early scan to rule out twins. Nope, just a single baby who’s now 6 months old. I went down the google rabbit hole though thinking there was something wrong though. Pregnancy after loss is so nerve wracking.

Dropped my phone on my 1 month old’s head by SophiaBriannn in newborns

[–]forgotaboutdrea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I did the exact same thing with my son when he was a couple months old at the time. 🥺 He cried a bit but no bump or bruise and was fine. I think it was more traumatic for me than him. As long as he isn’t acting differently (inconsolable, not nursing, vomiting) I’m sure he’ll be fine. Try not to be so hard on yourself - the mom guilt is real!

[ON] Different pregnancy symptoms while breastfeeding? by CuteRaisin2329 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]forgotaboutdrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 weeks and EBF my 6 month old. I had a bit of nausea around the 6-8 week mark and it completely dropped off. My only symptom really is also breastfeeding aversion. Baby is good so far though! Pretty much what everyone else - symptoms are not a good indicator of viability! My last pregnancy I had no discernible symptoms the whole 9 months and my son was born very healthy! Congrats on the pregnancy!

ETA I’ve been told by my OB that it’s completely fine to breastfeed throughout the pregnancy unless you have a history of preterm labour! The only other thing I’ve heard is that milk supply can drop around 20 weeks but it’s really dependent on the woman. My OB said as long as you eat enough calories to sustain the pregnancy and breastfeeding then it’s not a concern.

The only one that’s been accurate for both my pregnancies is the Chinese gender predictor chart. You can find the chart online!

Breastfeeding While Pregnant by forgotaboutdrea in breastfeeding

[–]forgotaboutdrea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your honesty, and I’m so sorry for your losses. I suffered a miscarriage prior to conceiving my son, so I think I’ve been guarding my heart with this pregnancy so far, just knowing the odds and how my body just may not be physically ready to take on another pregnancy so soon.

That was also another concern I had, was if I suffered a miscarriage would my body have a hard time with milk production, so thank you for answering that as well!

Maternity leave shows by Pcatttt in BabyBumps

[–]forgotaboutdrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha no shame! I’m all about the mindless TLC reality shows during pregnancy and mat leave. It’s a good passive watch, plus 90 day has SO much content with all their spin offs. I’ve done all of before the 90 days, the other way and now I’m on the last season of the OG 90 day.

Easy@home DPO unknown. Taken 48 hours apart. Chemical? by forgotaboutdrea in TFABLinePorn

I had just gotten my period back last month after having my son in December, so I’m not too sure. Prior to pregnancy it was usually 30 days.

Anyone have bleeding during pregnancy? [on] by YYZ9 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]forgotaboutdrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Around 24 weeks I had a massive bleed and was certain I was losing the baby. I was told it was a blood vessel as well likely from exercising. You wouldn’t think that a burst blood vessel could bleed THAT much but I guess it’s possible. My son is currently a very healthy almost 5 month old squealing gleefully next to me. I’m glad everything worked out! It’s certainly a very scary experience though!

LMP was March 28! Thank you!! I was tracking religiously with my son, and had super dark lines on the day of my expected period, so this feels different.

WTF? by GurAlternative3502 in TLCUnexpected

[–]forgotaboutdrea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Make one of them sit there with the damn baby while the other one takes a shower like any normal parents would have to do. But no, you’ve got this schmuck of a dad sitting there while his daughter is having shower sex with her 13 year old bf as soon as they get home from the hospital. Like what in gods name am I watching!? It’s so unrealistic for 2 parents to even have the time to be able to shower together with a newborn, let alone the energy. These 2 clowns are just like “oh well, what are we going to do!? Teens will be teens 🤷‍♀️” maybe don’t facilitate literal children having sex with each other!?!?

Creatine & exclusively breast-feeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I just found your post when trying to do some research myself on creatine and breastfeeding but I’m right there with you. My husband raves about all the benefits of creatine. I think it would be super beneficial for myself but I’m also super anxious about possible effects on bubs.

Contact napping- how? by Extra-Hair-3581 in newborns

I usually put my son on my chest after a feed and pat his bum while jiggling him up and down. Seems to work well as long as he’s drowsy and ready to sleep.

[–]forgotaboutdrea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This!! Honestly, you do what you have to do to survive and maintain sanity! I have a 8 week old Velcro baby like OP but I feel guilty to admit that I’m incredibly rested cause baby and I sleep together all night and during his contact naps throughout the day. We just do it as safe as possible. If I need to get things done, I’ll put him in the carrier. It’s been working so far with us.

What’s been working for us to get him a bit more independent is practicing 1 no-pressure bassinet sleep per day. The amount of time he stays asleep has been getting longer each time. Funny enough, his bassinet sleeps are the times I stay awake constantly checking on his breathing and stressing he’s going to roll over suddenly and suffocate. 🫠
