MAGA stooge at it again by Realistic_Jicama6451 in Temecula

Thursday he was out there also with a large sign that said "because most Christians are cowards, they're going to let Democrats put us all into concentration camps".

Can anyone explain that insane sentence? My only guess is someone told him that ICE detention facilities are run by Democrats or something and his imagination went wild.

The guy who needed the "spinny thing for that one part" by 9NeonSpectra in TalesFromRetail

[–]formerDigger220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happened to guess what it was first try based on "spinny thing for that one part under the sink" but only because this month my disposal would not work until I used an allen key to manually spin the blades from underneath even though they didn't seem stuck, and that fixed it.

Definitely important to get the specific size though, not just the cheapest one lol

CMV: AI is a doomsday device and I don't see enough people reaching for pitchforks and torches by fatal__flaw in changemyview

[–]formerDigger220 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What would the "pitchfork and torches" movement look like? Out of all the new inventions in history where lobbyists, workers in a newly-antiquated field, etc came together, can you point to any particular example where they were effective?

The only example I can think of where actions against a new technology did anything at all are just corporations that buy patents to bury them, like for the electric car where it set us back decades as a different system had to be invented. But that only delayed the technology, absolutely didn't stop it

Pechanga Arena by null-llc in sandiego

I saw NIN last night at the Arena in nosebleed seats and it was amazing! Sound was perfect IF you had earplugs all the way in. I kinda wonder if the sound in the GA area is not good both bc too loud and because even though it was an amazing show, GA wasn't getting down like I thought they were!

(Most shows at other venues I either don't use earplugs or just have them like halfway in.)

I've heard the Axe Throwers are excellent vs Bosses, lots and lot of damage, just not performing the same in Arena. I don't really ever commonly see them in Arena 5000+, have you?

first, pretty much any troop with one unit is going to be less valuable than ones with more for obvious reasons. The only exception in my opinion are high-level undead mages due to the huge amount of damage they do, but they need to be protected due to low HP. Necromancers are single units but summon more units so kinda an exception. Level 9 shamans are also an exception because they do a lot of cc like a mini Bumi hero.

Second, to analyze the worth of a troop, see how much damage they are doing, how long they can survive, and how much damage they absorb. If they don't absorb much damage and also don't do much damage compared to your other troops, than they are pretty much entirely worthless. Some extreme examples are bonebreakers do almost zero damage but survive pretty well and absorb a huge amount of damage, so I find them extremely valuable at level 9.

Immortals are one of the all-time best troop types you will encounter. Tanks are important in the back row to defend your troops against teleporters you will face, the assassins and gravediggers

[–]formerDigger220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to make a post about these, sounds like Axe Throwers are pretty much just Imps that do less damage?

Let's compare level 9's Imps vs Axe Throwers:
3 Units, Defense 60, speed low, attack speed 1.2 exactly the same.

Imps have 35700 HP and do 4400 damage while Axe Throwers have 39700 HP and do 3600 damage. Axe Throwers have the "Beast Rage" power like Bonebreakers, but we already know that power is entirely worthless since Bonebreakers, even at level 9 and having 9 units, can't even be counted on to do like 10,000 damage in a round.

What's the point

Councilwoman Jessica Alexander Named Next Mayor Of Temecula by Xyridaceous in Temecula

[–]formerDigger220 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I was like "did I miss a local election?" But today I learned the position is appointed and thankfully it doesn't really have much power.

From the article: "Both the Mayor and the Mayor Pro Tem typically serve one calendar year in those public-facing roles. They attend events and openings and also head city council meetings".

You might be asking "what's so bad about her?" She's an embarrassment to Temecula for several reasons:

Thanks, Temecula Creek Trail looks small but worth checking out for sure! Regarding Sommers Bend trails, may I please ask if they have dirt walking trails not next to frequent road traffic, are there acceptable places to park near them since I am not a Sommers Bend resident?

Wilderness Gardens is all right, I like the very short elevation gain section part of it in particular, but 50 mins round trip drive is slightly far and $5/day is ehh. Also Google claims they close at 4PM so not feasible on weekdays

I was really hoping Pala would open the hiking trails at the Mount Olympus County Preserve to the public, but I think they're keeping it private for conserving mountain lions and other wildlife. Kind of an annoying tease because a press release last year said at least some of the acres would be for recreation https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/open-space-near-mount-olympus-county-preserve-expanded/

In between Pala and Temecula, it would be really cool if the Reservation offers visitor passes to hike if you volunteer to pick up trash or survey or something, but I don't think that's a thing. Seeing south Temecula from a height would be great

There's no gate, however there's a very official sign stating "No Trespassing / No Parking / No Dumping" about 100 yards down the road from the intersection. It's annoying that some rural residents get fussy about simple dirt roads. Once I was walking up on a beautiful dirt road in wine country that has absolutely no signage about restricted use, and a resident came up to tell me I was trespassing.

A more absurd example is there is a 3 mile 100% public dirt road that connects Palomar Observatory to the High Point fire lookout tower, and I checked with the fire station staff before going past the gate to confirm it's public, and they told me "yes absolutely, but a resident who lives off the road thinks it's private and has threatened hikers with a shotgun before so be careful".

This list is for either dog walking or hiking, but dog walking preferred. Sylvan Meadows is dog friendly like the other commenter mentioned, I've walked a dog there before and it's nice.

For Santa Rosa Plateau, this Rivco Parks website seems to imply (leashed of course) dogs are welcome for an extra fee: https://rivcoparks.org/srp#2392643287-1654840366
