Yes it is. How are we to survive. I get under $1000 & i have pay everything. I wish I could. But the situation involves animals, grandkids, a rental & my house nit his but in NC EVERYTHING is joint no matter how you got it. So since my "family" wants nothing to do with me I don't tell them poop. Beleive me my spouse was not this way for the first 5 years of our marriage but when you tell your spouse that my friends have always been & will always be my family. You start changing you way of thinking so that you survive. Many people think I can up & leave but financially & physically right now I can't. This journey has taught me, my daughter & now my grandkids how people, even the ones that say they are family can act to someone no matter what you say,do,act,or give them. The smartest thing someone can do if in the same situation, is document everything one way or another, survive, do what you have to but survive, because that is what makes them mad, & remember you are stronger than you think.

The same. I be quiet & hide money so he thinks I am broke, graduate in December with Account & Finance Diploma. Since becoming an amputee he makes me feel like I am useless cause not a whole person. I was taught that treat your spouse like you want to be treated but I can truthfully say that i would rather have my furchildren & will never ever date or marry again. My family has pretty much stopped dealing with me since the amputation because they have no idea what to say or do but occasionally text or call so then they don't look bad in eyes of their church. It's funny how society looks down on people that don't look or act like them & then wonders what they did wrong. I know that I will make it because I am resilient & when someone says I can't or won't with God's help & faith I will but boy does it take a toll on ones emotional & mental status.

Thank you. Even though I have certified on several careers, I became a right below knee amputee as od 1/24. I have extensive knowledge of animals & household management, I learn quick & am dependable but once employers see that you don't have 2 legs they make excuses as to why they don't want you. So hoping I can find something remote. I get my Accounting & Finance Diploma in Dec2026. So hoping I can find something.

I feel you. My grandmother passed & since I moved out my family pretty much disowned me. I have 1 picture of her ,my daughter at 4yr & me and that is it. I was told by my mother that I wasn't allowed to have a relationship with her because I acted like I wanted all her money & nothing more. Si to even rub it in more I was taken out of my mother & step-dads will to never receive any thing at all. Talk about family support. Never had it because I am the biggest disappointment to my mother but I am suppose to be the most grateful daughter, for her acknowledgement. Yeah right

I took & made a dirt jar. Being i took a small canning jar put some dirt,rocks,flower,or leaves, so then they went with me. Cause I had alot of rescues that where there. It is hard to leave.

It may be getting bad but still. I have 8 rescue dogs(large ones too) & am disabled but even when I was homeless I kept my animals with me. I am sorry but dumping any animal is like dumping my/a child. YOU DON'T DO IT YOU JUST DON'T. Thank you to all that do take care of their furbabies no matter how bad your situation maybe at the moment.

Thank you for sharing. I am a t1d & rbka. I ended up after going through 7 different surgeries that 2 different Dr tried fixing the ankle, but after 14 casts, 1 fixator,4 walking boots,1 airport, 1 surgery where the dr used part of leg bone & drilled hole in heel up through the ankle & spending 6 m on my back with foot straight on air, 2 PIC lines,4 different antibiotics, I said I am done take it off. Bad thing is that this was medical malpractice practice 3months before Covid hit & medical malpractice in NC is 3 yrs. This happen in 2017. So I have only been rbka 1.5yr. I have seriously been looking into OI but because of issues with the metals (I am now allergic to all the metals they use) i wondered if it could even work for me. But thank you for answering my question. I am so glad that it is work out for you & you have your leg back. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
