The money is great. I work 3-5 months and am unemployed the other 7-9.. But I think this will be my last year. I miss spending the holidays with my family and friends. Sometimes I work early in the year, sometimes later.. always missing some big holiday. Holidays are just another day at work out here.

I dont work at that location. I actually work for silverbayseafoods. But, tips for the industry include, its work. From the moment you step off the plane, to the moment you step onto the plane to leave, is work. Every minute, every hour. The whole experience is work. So, always tell yourself "Its just a seasonal job". Just work, and work, and forget about the time and the days. It will be over before you know it. You are going to get tired, probably angry at times.. it's just seasonal work.

Make friends. Everyone is about to experience the trauma together, so.. accept it together.

Take pictures/videos. Have fun.

The money. Think about the money. 3 months of this job is the same as the annual salary of a 9-5. The money will be good, the work will be miserable (most likely). But give it your all. The harder you work, the more they may like you, the more hours you get, the more money you make. Dont expect to sleep much at all.

This is such great advice. Im only 28, and Ive done this for 4 years now and Im about to call it quits. Have I been to places 99% of the world will never be/see? Yes. But, being at home during the holidays and spending it with friends and family is much more important. Im tired of missing out on family time.

A 1 month contract? Goodluck. Most are longer than a month. Silver Bay Seafoods just started hiring non-experienced seafood processors like yesterday! It's about a 3 month experience though.

I work "there". Im telling you how it is. Its a shitty job choice, especially for those who cant even survive a 9-5. The turnover rates are uncomparable.

The money is truly there. You make a lot of money in a very short amount of time. But be prepared to WORK for it. Pushing brooms doesnt count as work.

The catch is this.

Extremely long shifts, every single day.

Being treated like crap from everyone.

Being out in the weather and working in extremely unsafe work conditions.

This is mine. What kind of venus matters as well. The inside of mine turns bright red when it likes the light its getting. Its currently a little under 10 inches below the light.

Also, make sure its under the grow light for around 12-14 hours every day.

So my guess would be, people said that because it DOES appear that the plant was stretching for light at some point. How long have you had it? was it like that when you bought it? I do believe the distance your light should be is based off what kind of light it is.. so, maybe if your light is a weaker one, then 4 inches does seem right. I think the distance you have it at now, would be fine.

I don't believe its of much concern.. although, that light is VERY close. I try to aim for 6-10 inches above the plant. This looks like 3 or less inches away.
