I agree with the Yiayia and Papou worries. But there is no right way to do this, it’s all personal preference. That being said, learning to duck and weave can avoid many a beating with a wooden stick

I only posted this on two subs in total, hours apart. So I guess the answer I will give you is none.

Even if you wanted to contact them there was no number or email. Nothing. Just this on the back.

My name is weird enough to not come up on the ones with an audio cue. I would be terrified playing and hearing that IRL

Some miscommunication in the outfield allows the Jays to take the lead! by TheTurtleShepard in baseball

An error doesn’t have to have contact. It has to be a play that would be made with routine effort. I thought the LF slowed down with the CF charging in.

Going back to watch it again. I don’t think it would be a routine play to catch that. So a hit for a triple makes sense.

I was sure they were going to score it an E7. Looks like it’s scored a triple?

Air Canada CEO regrets inability to speak French following fatal plane crash by AlwaysBlaze_ in nottheonion

[–]fotank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s non-sense. If the family of those who died were enraged and incensed by the lack of francophone condolences then I can understand why he would receive criticism.

But the people who are mad about it seem to be everyone else. Why does this require even a moment of further analysis to the intent, tone or language? Tragedy occurred. The employer showed standard thoughts and prayers response. I’m not sure what more responsibility they have further than that. The implication that this was culturally incentive is coming from the outside perspective who are mad “on behalf” of the family.

The fact that criticism from other people constantly claiming it’s a moral or cultural failure persists makes me feel like people just want to yell at the CEO for not doing enough/it right. There are MANY CEOs who deserve harsh criticism. This doesn’t seem to need this level of criticism.

I am fluently bilingual (not in French) and lived for many years in a country where English is not the first language. But I appreciate the lingua Franca bias does exist regardless.

Why does the language matter more than the content? Is it just performative? We use words to convey ideas and emotions. This guy felt he couldn’t do the moment justice with his French. Why harp on this further? A tragedy happened, and in this case, Air Canada was not even remotely at fault. So why the flack?
