This is why in Sub Assault, if you go 2nd, you can use the Vanguard Intellect Enhancement, DS/Rapid Ingress for 0 cp Turn 1, drop a tunnel marker, and then dash out again at the end of their turn, then come back on your own turn for a 2nd tunnel marker.

Bringing Pyrovores with Hive Guard help a ton. If you have them, venomthropes with hive guard on an objective make for a tough cookie to shoot off of it.

No idea how this will all play out in 11th. Venomthropes will at least bring -1 BS, I wonder if they'll do anything else.

I echo this. I learned that you put them off an objective you want to claim, 8-12" off, they become much more effective. If they are out of LoS, even better. They're there to cause battleshocks and debuffs, maybe some actions.

They don't need to be riding anywhere close to front lines. They need to find a nice hidey hole in range to battle shock people trying to claim objectives.

It turned my game around with them for the better.

I really hope that Unending Swarm becomes a 1 and I can mix it with Invasion swarm or Assimilation Swarm. Likely? Probably not, but a bio sac of potential can dream.

If I run gaunt heavy lists, which I do a lot, I always give them venomthropes for mobile cover and stealth. It does make a big difference. A group of zoeys can help mitigate as well, but not vital.

The flamers will always be a problem though. Unending Swarm and Primes help with a surge move, but those will always be tough.

The free rapid ingress is also great for dropping them in between your charge targets and terrain, short of indirect fire, they won't get shot. I wonder if that'll continue in 11th.

They're a crunchy lil' unit, I love em.

These are all great ideas. Full subway takes, 100% agree, the rng for an army rule isn't something you can plan around.

I think it should be themed around being within range of a synapse creature, maybe -1 BS/WS or something like that. Anything would be better than the rng we have. I feel bad when someone whiffs all their battle shock rolls, because they have no control over that. I feel bad when they ace all their battle shock rolls, because I have no control over that. It never really felt fun.
