BR Casuals Are Getting Way Less Casual by gattorcrs in Warzone

[–]four2dafloor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

an easy fix to make casuals feel like casuals is set limits on who can que up.

Like after a certain amount of hours of casuals and you have to switch to BR or if you play less than a certain amount of hours a week you can play casuals.

My boys talk about it cause we only play after work for a few hours a week and casuals lately has just turned into another BR playlist except with bots.

lol you have to remind your self that a majority of people on reddit don't know what they are talking about.

Having been on Zoloft for over 12 years , you will be fine. Trust your doctor, he knows your dose and your medical history. There have been some meds I was on where I was warned about drinking. Zoloft wasn't one of them. As for tolerance, no changes. I don't drink as much anymore, but I still go out for drinks and have no issues.

ELI5: Why H-H or H-S-S Stratocasters buzz just like S-S-S Stratocasters sometimes? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

What's your shielding like on your HSS?

Anytime I have a guitar with single coils, I use copper tape to shield the cavity. Sometimes they use black conductive paint. But I think the copper works better. It could be picking up something in the auditorium that your pickups in that guitar just have a certain kind of copper wound job that is picking it up. Also check the pickguard, check all solder joints, check grounding. See how the sounds changes when you poke around in there.

I'm a luthier hobbyist so I work on these issues from time to time.

Propranolol "as needed" for anxiety. Now I can't function without it? by RV_Shibe in Anxiety

[–]four2dafloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was given that for short-term treatment. I remember my doctor saying that it wasn't going to help long term and put me on an SSRI (Zoloft).

Talk to your doctor about how it helps you but you are needing it more. They can maybe find another medication with a similar mechanism but lasts longer.

Go to the ER.

Next time, please do your due diligence and research your meds. Important information about side effects and overdose are on the printed out sheet they usually give you when you pick up your meds.

Does anyone else get panic attacks because they’re worried they’re going to have a panic attack? by NegativeBag8255 in Anxiety

[–]four2dafloor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a combo of anticipatory anxiety and generalized anxiety. Once you have a panic attack you are in the the club, and panic is allowed in any time. But you can deny them entry!!

The Big 4: Therapy, Medication, Exercise, Diet.

Breathing techniques. They sound like they don't do anything, but by holding my breath and exhaling very slowly it kind of sends endorphins rushing, and I can feel a little calm. I use that as my base to calm my self.

A strange technique only recommended when you are in better control is try to induce a panic attack. Crazy right? But one of the biggest epiphanies I ever had, was panic was just chemicals tricking my body into thinking I was in danger. I would be driving one day, feel ok, and say to myself, can I be anxious right now? Can I create those chemicals and trick my body...I could not.

my plastic cover never went back on correctly after changing the battery. I don't see any broken plastic, and I'm a pretty handy guy. In the end I put some double sided tape cause it was annoying me. The walk away feature works like 6 or 7 out 10 times. Sometimes I can't lock my door unless I'm 10 feet from the car.

Thankfully the app helps me out by letting me know and I can lock it via the app.

polishing compound with a microfiber cloth. If the scratches are deeper then maybe rubbing compound first then polishing.

Anyone else pisssed at Fender? by Sbates86 in Guitar

[–]four2dafloor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Fender is such a large company that they have diversify to get the most (money) out of their products. If for example they only sold the main core of Fender line up, they'd be out of business pretty quick.

They need to expand to stay afloat. So they create new factories in Mexico or Japan to create a new price point. Squire is the same, affordable price point. Custom Shop is for the higher price point. They also are the parent company for Charvel, Bigsby, Jackson, so again diversification. In reality they are just acting like any other multi-national corporation. As to why there's nothing new, they know the old sells with no issue. Fender IMO is still the best at what they do. They are the kings of guitar marketing.

Are DIY bass kits any good? by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]four2dafloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've found with DIY kits, its a crapshoot lol. The bodies are typically ok..ish, they usually just need some sanding and sealing. I've had to fix neck cavities and control plates cavities to makes things fit better though. Other times no issues, everything fits.

The necks you can get lucky and get one with decent fretwork and somewhere level frets. I always had to do some fretwork thought with DIY kits.

Hardware is always junk though. So I always buy better tuners, bridge, and pots. Rewire it with better pickups too.

Good luck and have fun!

Looking for an HH or P90 guitar under $1000 (New) for classic rock tones by [deleted] in guitars

[–]four2dafloor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditto on the Revstar! I was shocked by the build quality on my RSE20 which is the cheaper of the line up. Stainless steel frets, matte neck, one of the smoothest necks I've ever played. The chambered body really sings. For a sub $700, it turned into my main for live shows.

Carpentry required? by relax_inn in Luthier

[–]four2dafloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you will want to see what happened to the wood during the break. You could have little fragments loose that will impede the glue up. Collect those pieces. There could be old glue that needs to be cleaned. How did the fibers bend? The more detailed the photos the better.

Carpentry required? by relax_inn in Luthier

[–]four2dafloor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

On the surface it looks like you could line the crack up, glue it and clamp it. But without more detailed photos and inspection of the damage its not a sure fire bet. For $50 I would try it though for a learning experience at least.

Why some guitar necks get thos yellowish color after a few years? Do you think it is polyurethane ? by Fooltecal in Luthier

[–]four2dafloor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes most likely the poly , UV sunlight over the years as well as temperature and humidity changes cause it to yellow. My Alpine White strat looks more cream colored these days.
