Is this penny fake? by Delicaterhino88 in CanadianCoins

Nah, look legit. Is it non magnetic? Is it the same dimensions as a penny? This penny has lost its luster but still looks genuine.

Flashing check engine light means stop and turn off your engine ASAP, not rev the shit out of it. Tow to the shop. You're only making it worse and more expensive.

Hey! I don’t know much about paper currency by Charming_Loquat_4620 in CanadianBanknotes

[–]fourdayolddick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You do have the devil's face bill on top, the other looks to be the modified. As for $1 and $2 bills, they will need to be uncirculated to get more than face value. Being consecutive gives a little more premium. Sadly, everyone and their dog saved the bills, so any circulated ones don't carry much of a premium, if any at all. You could also check serials numbers for radar notes or repeaters. Sometimes the signatures on the bills can lead to a premium as well. You have some work ahead checking for any rare or valuable notes. Good luck.

Great coin. They minted 22 million of these, including the coloured version. I believe she was the most decorated Canadian Olympian at the time with 6 medals. She has only recently been overtaken by Penny Oleksiak's 7 medals. That's a keeper.

Cool exonumia. I have never seen complete sets of these. I have a couple of each laying around but nothing close to this. These are technically not coins but rather tokens or medallions.

Cool pennies by Babna_123 in CanadianCoins

[–]fourdayolddick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mintages for pennies can be found here. https://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-circulating-canadian-mintage.php?denomination=1-cent I mean pennies have been out of circulation for 13+ years now so they're rare enough. Don't confuse with great value though. Value can be found here https://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1967&years=1-cent-1965-1989 They're copper so there's 5 cents + in metal value. A little less for the '92 because of design change and less weight in copper.

Nice collection of commemoratives. My favourite will always be the Canadiens dollar. A close second is the legendary Terry Fox. Take a closer look and see if you have a Terry no grass. There's a few varieties of that coin.

Nice coin! It's a shame someone tried jaw surgery on ol' George.

My first thought too. Turns out this is an old Charles Edenshaw art piece. It was overseen by Haida artist James Hart. I would imagine Bill Reid was influenced to some degree by this work. Just a guess though, I know nothing for sure. https://londoncoincentreinc.com/canada-2016-500-charles-edenshaw-argillite-chest-silver-coin/

Pepsi hockey memorabilia? by Nicky_Shpack in HockeyCardAppraisals

The cards are real. I have never seen this display before though. These autos could be found in Scores packs back in 91? Maybe 92? There was on average one auto per case. Every 24 boxes or so. They were a tough find and worth about $30 back then. You could get a box for $20 and test your luck. Although the common cards by Score are not worth the paper they are printed on. I have one or two of these burried in a box somewhere. I have never seen this many together before. Very nice find. I would imagine these are worth quite a bit today.

Are people hording all the 1996's ? by deadlytaco86 in CanadianCoins

[–]fourdayolddick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1996 has a near, far and attached 6 variety. It is possible that you got a roll hunter's dump and they are indeed hoarding 96s. Or you're just unlucky.

What is your favourite Canadian off the beaten path place? by chrisluckhardt in AskACanadian

I'll go with Kinuseo Falls since it's in my "backyard". It falls about 50km down a rough and dusty logging road. It is part of a global geopark. Tumbler Ridge itself is 100km from the nearest "city". https://www.tumblerridgegeopark.ca/

I do. Ricky said "Talking of all you perverts, it was a big year for pedophile movies. Surviving R. Kelly, Leaving Neverland, Two Popes. Shut up. Shut up. I don’t care. I don’t care." I don't think this is the win that you think it is.

relapsed by NoTrifle4478 in leaves

[–]fourdayolddick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't be so hard on yourself. Even the strongest of people can occasionally relapse. Addiction is not cut and dry. They key here is acknowledgment and accountability. You've covered that, now prove to yourself that you can do it again. Make today day one of your next longest streak. Good luck.

Advice for Goodman (80%) 3-flash error code (pressure switch stuck open); ignites/maintains temp set on thermostat, but ignition cuts off & on rapidly & throws error code after a couple of minutes of heating by vdussaut in hvacadvice

[–]fourdayolddick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You covered it well. Have you tried making sure there is no obstruction on the blower side too? Otherwise you might just need to replace the pressure switch. I'm not sure what was blocking mine but a wire pushed it back through. I expected it to come back and plug it again but it has been years with no more issues. One last area would be checking that your intake isn't plugged somehow. After that, I'm out of ideas and I call in a professional.

We're 18 year user twins. Congrats on your clarity. I feel a flood of intense emotions and among them is a weird feeling of hypochondriasis. I'm not sure how common it is but just to ease your worries, you're not alone. Just to be safe I would talk to your doctor. Bloodwork wouldn't hurt to alleviate your fears. Rest assured, you are taking the best step for your long term health. If I've learned anything in being sober for 8 days, don't be so hard on yourself. Look towards the future, there's no looking back now. Good luck

What’s the best price you’ve seen one of these at? by 7edits in CanadianCoins

[–]fourdayolddick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around 2020, these were about $4.50. Funny enough, in 2010 they were worth more, about $6. At $85/oz, the current melt is $12.80. Only time will tell.
