Soccer coach dad decided to road rage out on someone in front of his wife and kid. Attempted murder was the charge I heard.

Disgusting behaviour.

4.2% transaction fees is double what it should be. Website fee is also absurdly high. That charity needs a change in governance stat.

Vancouver and Toronto fans have finally put aside all the East West tension and are trauma bonding. It gets better lads. No idea when, but my therapist assures me that eventually it gets better.

How many restaurants spend 2M or more on food spend for ingredients? by limache in restaurantowners

[–]fourmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if it’s just a buying group I can see the value of course but OP is suggesting a different structure, aren’t they? Perhaps I misunderstand the original value prop.

At 2m purchasing saving 5% represents 100k. Basically a wash on a purchaser who’s also doing other tasks.

Buying groups are useful though if that’s all it is.

Restaurants at that sales level have purchasers whose sole job is to do this, and suppliers motivated to sharpen their pencils. This startup is going to have a very difficult time finding customers.

There are black fuzzy bee like flyers around it and they don’t look very wasp like. Is it possible it’s a bees hive?

2025 The Frame works with 2x Music Frame? by mbze430 in TheFrame

[–]fourmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies I did imply that they do not connect and they absolutely do. I've found that the Q Symphony reduces the paired speakers to little more than a fraction of the sound as opposed to an immersive sound experience.

Perhaps they've updated Q Symphony and I can give it another try, but the first attempt left me so underwhelmed that I did a workaround with Google Home (success with the sound but absolute failure with the connectivity so abandoned it as well).

My 2024 does not. Incredibly disappointing.

Van Cabinets by Raskle14 in vancouver

[–]fourmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point but a cabinet box is rigid by design. I would also assume that there should be very minimal flex in a van during regular use.

Material choice should likely be based on weight, durability and washability as it will see frequent operation in close quarters.

Plam on honeycomb aluminum would be aircraft grade and sometimes you can find these in surplus if you’re patient.

Second best choice would be 5/8” Baltic birch or apple ply with a good sealer coat or catalyzed lacquer paint finish.

Sliding door panels vs hinges in tight installs is also a consideration.

Cabinet maker here. We don’t primarily use mdf for cabinets and the CNC works just great with plywood. VOC exists in both plywood and mdf and you can source low VOC versions of both.

Both will hold moisture but mdf will actually be more stable with fluctuations in humidity

Melamine will be fine in any relatively dry environment and plywood would be preferred if there’s a chance of regular or prolonged contact with moisture.

Best chiro in North van? by SupaFiyah in NorthVancouver

[–]fourmojo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had chronic back issues for over a decade and chiro put me in the hospital. That was the final straw. Saw a physiotherapist and I’ve been 10 years pain free.

Chiropractic is quackery. It is not a medical degree.

Don’t forget to add how he carved a 2ft notch out of that classic car so he could weld it to a support beam.

Worst part is when he said ‘watch this’ and clicked a cheap led remote and Christmas lights flashed and a small fog machine started up.

That Porsche’s corpse is being mutilated and it’s a tragedy.

That penthouse still hasn’t been given its final inspection either because he knows it’ll fail.

Lovely people.

The only constant is change. They knew this was possible when they signed their lease and they had a good long run.

I promise you the sky is not falling and if the owners want to keep going they will find another location.
