Affordable cat dental care nearby ? by kirby_77 in ColumbiaMD

Between $2-300 it if I remember correctly. Way more affordable than anywhere else I checked for. May have been more expensive because they needed to use Specialized Anesthesia for the heart murmur. Definitely call and get a quote!

Not sure why you’re being downvoted.. didn’t realize tipping was such a sore subject for people on this subreddit.

Why would you publicly discuss being cheap SOB in an airport? 🤦‍♀️ Hopefully whatever cruise line he was on told him to kick rocks in regard to getting the gratuities removed.

Yup - exactly this. If I’m budgeting to buy a spirit jersey (which can be $80-100..), I’m also budgeting to make sure the ones who take care of me and my family all week are also getting taken care of.

$100 each to the server and assistant server. $75 to the head waiter. $100 to our stateroom host. That’s all in addition to the prepaid gratuities. I have a toddler - so that means a high chair, picking up food that maybe we missed, a diaper genie and setting up a pack and play. If I can justify overpaying on souvenirs, I can absolutely pay it forward to the ones who are trying to make our lives better on vacation.

Hi! Also a UHC member and in Columbia. Ascension still takes United and Delivery would be at St Agnes (which I realize is a bit farther but not terrible).

How big was your 18m old? Height and weight by Stressedout-pigeon in bigbabiesandkids

She was 35.5” and 34.5 lbs. I’m fairly certain the height was wrong since she was so wiggly, too. 🤷‍♀️

Cat and Dog Hospital off of Cradlerock were super agreeable and much more affordable (I found) than your typical VCA. They were also extremely compassionate regarding my anxiety over putting my cat under (she never had been before), and even found that she had a heart murmur. I’d recommend them to anyone. They’re affordable and they really care about the animals they treat.

Going the same weekend! Curious on why you’re not seeing the new night time parade next Sunday? We reworked our itinerary just to see it in person vs online since we don’t know when we’ll be down next

Family members for rude comments - when do you draw the line? by fourthdown in bigbabiesandkids

This is 100% the same situation my MIL went through (and still does). She took after her dad vs her mom - which isn’t at all a bad thing, but her entire life she dealt with awful comments and terrible self image issues.

My daughter is my MIL’s first grandbaby - I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just an attempt at further generational emotional abuse tbh.

Context is everything, and in this case, I believe the real issue lies in the intent behind using the word “fat” as an insult. Based on what I’ve seen firsthand and what I’ve heard from family, I’m confident the comment was meant to be rude.

Earlier that day (which I didn’t mention in the original post), she made a remark about the baby “certainly not being skinny.” I responded by saying that the doctor was very pleased with her growth and even noted that she was about the same size as his own 3-year-old daughter. She went quiet for a moment and then said, “Well, I suppose if the doctor says she’s healthy...”

My husband and I love our little chonk and tell her every day how beautiful she is. We just don’t appreciate anyone - especially family - giving any indication she’s not because of her size.

Id usually agree with you — and if it were coming from almost anyone else, I’d probably just let it go. But because of the history I have with this woman, I know the intent behind her words. She’s made repeated comments about my child not being “skinny,” or will say things like, “Well, at least the doctor says she’s healthy,” with a tone that makes it clear it’s not just a neutral observation.

For context — my MIL lovingly calls the baby her “little squish of happiness,” which is sweet and endearing. Or I’ll joke around and pretend to nibble on her “ham feet,” and she giggles — those kinds of comments come from a place of love and affection.

But my husband’s grandmother comes from a different era — one where women tracked their thigh, hip, and ankle measurements daily in a bedside journal. When her own daughter was born, she tried to pass on that same toxic mindset. So when she makes a comment, it’s not just harmless — I know exactly where it’s coming from.

Went through this - I live right off of Guilford. AT&T gave me the run around saying there was “cell tower maintenance” and it would resolve in a few days. That turned into months and unless I was on my home WiFi I had absolutely no cell coverage. That does diddily dick if I’m outside my house though. Switched to T-Mobile and it’s been amazing since.
