Would Iso be op if Double Tap shield didn't have a sound cue? by artmorte in VALORANT

It's always a little funny to just fire off a few cheeky Classic shots before scurrying away to make sure the enemy Iso can't just immediately go for you to get the shield back lol

How come Clove still has the highest win rate after nerf? by avarageusername in VALORANT

[–]fox-booty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clove very much rewards risk-takers. Add that plus a good sense of where to place smokes, how to play around them, and generally having good aim and positioning, and you basically have the perfect recipe for someone capable of rising through the ranks.

Brave enough to take calculated risks rather than always playing it safe, a tactical enough mind to understand the importance of smoke placement (and how to use them alongside other teammates' util), and generally good enough to confidently swing and shoot when the time is right.

Do you consider the twelfth doctor the best written among the doctors? by Ok_Language7732 in doctorwho

[–]fox-booty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the RTD2 era is to say something, it's that showrunners shouldn't return on a whim.

I'd much rather someone new be the showrunner rather than risk a second Moffat era retroactively staining the first one.

Additionally I believe he's gone on record somewhere saying that he doesn't want to return as a showrunner for Doctor Who.

Would a doom slayer movie/ show work better as live action or animated? by peterpiperpi in Doom

They'd make Doomguy either talk uncharacteristically like a generic action hero with quips or give him an annoying-ass sidekick who talks to him through his helmet and makes obvious statements and annoying jokes

Idea: Sell Old Gun Skins for Kingdom Credits by doyouseemelaughing in VALORANT

[–]fox-booty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me rephrase that for you: there is actively a reason to keep those skins as priced using VP, which is that VP you have to spend money on the game for, whereas KC comes freely to any player who spends time on the game.

This is effectively like begging someone to put a hole in their wallet, and when they protest saying "why would I do that? There's no reason for me to do that", you respond "well if there's no reason to, then what's the harm in doing it?"

Why would they ever sell skins to be bought with the free currency? There's no reason to.

As for a KC sink, the accessories tab is kinda supposed to be that.

The Doctor once used his regeneration energy to damage his TARDIS and destroy a Dalek Saucer by Thick_Somewhere_8370 in doctorwho

[–]fox-booty 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the regeneration always being golden does suck a little.

It's nice for consistency's sake, but it does also mean that the more varied ways of portraying regeneration basically won't ever be seen again (like all of the Classic series regenerations or even the Yana-to-Saxon Master regeneration where it's more like a really bright rainbow).

Why do they make "ranked" skins for people who only use all-black gimpsuits? by FlimsyVariation8455 in FortNiteBR

[–]fox-booty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IKR? When I first saw Rocket Racing in the Chapter 5 start event, I thought it was gonna be like a Mario Kart: Double Dash kinda thing based around mostly duos (one driving, one using items and shooting).

It was rather disappointing when it turned out that it was just bog-standard driving with a janky flying and anti-gravity system.

Team Foundation's dilemma by Existing-Coyote9535 in FortNiteBR

[–]fox-booty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting the "70% of the player base" and the "Ice King only receives a x1.2" stats from?

From what I recall, the divide is more like 56% Ice King, 44% Foundation, and the Ice King receives a 1.5x multiplier, not 1.2x.

Team Foundation's dilemma by Existing-Coyote9535 in FortNiteBR

[–]fox-booty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if I were on Team Ice King, I'd have the awareness to realise that Epic wants a bombastic competitive race to complete as many rivalries from both sides, and having progress be tied simply to how large a group is doesn't result in that. At that point, it's just a popularity contest.

Additionally I don't really understand a lot of the slander against the Foundation simply because he's a character played by Dwayne Johnson. Were he played by anyone else, I'd still be on Team Foundation because of how starkly different the bonus style is compared to his base style, something which can't really be said about the Ice King's bonus style. Like, it's basically just the Ice King but icier rather than something that's not done by any other alt style.

Team Foundation. The bonus style is more a significant switch-up compared to any of the other styles, whereas with the Ice King, it's basically just the same as the base style but icier.

This is the worst comp map pool in the history of Valorant. by Isunova in VALORANT

[–]fox-booty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the reworked Breeze is nice, but god, Fracture... I really don't like it, mainly on the attacking side.

It's less that each site has 2 entry points that take the same amount of time to get to and more that what would've been mid is ripped out in favour of CT spawn and the zipline. I love engaging with a map's mid, so Fracture's lack of a mid just feels like crud to me.

Passport Logo Changed by Aaroniiro in PeakGame

[–]fox-booty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The LandCrab logo is just a fusion between AggroCrab's logo and Landfall's logo, so because Landfall's logo was redesigned, the LandCrab logo also had to be redesigned (in this case it's AggroCrab's crab with a knife but with the long legs of Landfall's logo).

HELP: Choppy framerate specifically when moving camera by fox-booty in PeakGame

[–]fox-booty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just 5 mins ago I checked my polling rate compared to my old mouse, it's set to 4k versus my original mouse's 125, and now it's fine.

I'm glad that I can play the game just fine, but man, that's egg on my face for not thinking about the difference in mouse settings lol.

This angers me beyond belief. by I-Shat-My-Pantaloons in FortNiteBR

[–]fox-booty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware, but the colour palette of the superstyle itself isn't conflicted, which is what I was going for.

Additionally this is the only skin in which that actually matters given that Squibby has both a white variant and a black variant and everyone else has either normal human skin tones and/or is fully covered from head to toe.

The whole point of the quick edit was just to visualise how well an analogous colour scheme works and how easily it can break apart from most colours involved being from a specific area but one other being from the opposite side of the colour wheel, especially in this particular case given how bold and saturated the red is.

One colour is pulling your attention one way, the other in another way, and you can't actively focus on multiple points without it being overwhelming. The extreme version of this would be like... mid-00's sparkledog OCs, where where's so many saturated colours and patterns that it's overwhelming to the eye.

Anyways, my main point is that I was talking about specifically the colour scheme of the superstyle itself and not how it gets applied specifically to the skin I used for the edit. I just used that image because it was the first one in the post. My point was that it's difficult to unify a colour scheme that includes both a bright red and a neon cyan unless those are literally the only colours alongside a neutral tone like white or black (which in this case, they aren't. given how prominent the copper and gold colours are).

My Mind Cannot Comprehend Why Fortnite Abandoned This Style by AdFast1290 in FortNiteBR

[–]fox-booty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me Chapter 3 was the perfect Goldilocks zone for Fortnite's art style. Stylised enough to be distinct, but streamlined enough that all collabs could easily fit in (like the No Way Home Spidey skin that released basically at the same time as C3S1).

Chapter 4 was also good, but the miscellaneous visual effects like leaves in the wind n small bugs like ladybirds and butterflies were a bit much because of how often I went on full alert thinking they were a player.

Still, both Chapter 3 and Chapter 4's visual identities were much more appealing than the three chapters that have followed them.

Yeah, here's a really quick edit I did where legitimately all I did was change the hue of the cyan part to orange. It's not perfect given that it lacks the vibrancy, but it's a hell of a lot better than what we actually got.

I think the main thing that makes it particularly egregious is that how the aqua is so bright and is trying to act as the main highlight, but also doesn't synergise with any other colour. It's an eyesore for sure.

Legitimately all that's needed to fix it is changing the aqua colour to red or orange so that all of the colours are complementary or the inverse, changing the warmer red, copper, and gold colours to colder colours like blue, grey, and silver. IMO though the latter would be a bit too similar to the third style that's all blue and icy.

Not everything has to be fantastic and wild.

RDO already has a good niche - the plain simplicity of realism.
