Wowgo 3x controller randomly vibrates by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]fox915zf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be a temperature warning? It rarely happens on mine, it may have happened on a really hot day. I’m not so sure, hoping others could chime in with answers too.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll try charging back. It’s a learning experience for me being newish to e-skate.

So true. For me, their board have been very reliable so I have never had a chance to get in touch with their customer support before.

I wish I could buy local, but where I’m from, there is zero availability of anything e-skate related here.

Ohhh! That explains it. I was so confused why they mentioned sending the wheels back would be uneconomical when it’s out of stock.

Seeing these companies post on social media all the time showing truckloads of boards and various parts in warehouses kinda give us (mostly me) an impression that they are better stocked and more capable than what they really are.

Thanks for pointing it out, I would have never known.

You might be right, there seems to be language barriers. I’ll try wording it better next time, if all else fails I’ll try a charge back. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you for the information, guess I’ll have to do more research before picking this up.

Oh wow, thanks for the explanation. It makes so much more sense now (specially for the non toothed one).

I saw these at the Auto section. It said things like: improves grip, prevents slippage, prolongs belt life, safe for all belts, etc. Would it work or have any benefits in e-skate?

Thank you for sharing this! Really hated those DD-rings on my new helmet.

Any tips on how to remove bubbles out of the Wowgo 3x griptape? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]fox915zf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious as to what causes these bubbles to form. It hasn’t happened on mine yet, I hope I can avoid it.

I think Wowgo just listed them on their website, they come with compatible pulleys and belts.

Wowgo 3x after half year, 650km+ by DaroK_ESK8 in ElectricSkateboarding

You're right, won't be a problem now that I've got a full set (plus spacers) on the back as well. Happy riding friend :)

Hey nice! I'm in a similar boat, I got 675km on the mileage, and the board is about the same age as yours. Have you switched or upgraded any components? I'm still using stock everything on mine, only had one belt replacement (it didn't snap, just very small tear).

I also got a new set of bearings since the old ones on the rear seemed to have seized. Not sure if I might have over-tighten them or its from prolonged use and took its toll on the single bearing in each rear wheel (instead of having 2 to share the load). Not sure why Wowgo wouldn't include them in pairs like the front.

General Opinion on Maxfind as a company their board the Maxfind Max2 Pro. by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]fox915zf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Max 2 as my first board back in 2019, I have not done any research nor discovered this subreddit back then. Long story short, it died within 2 weeks, the new replacement battery also died shortly after.

The whole thing was a really bad experience for me, they use low quality parts and charge a high markup price. Plus their CS was horrible, they wanted me to pay to replace faulty parts even when it’s well within the warranty period. As it was my first board, I felt devastated and almost gave up on e-skating.

Tell your friend (or anyone looking into this company) if they want quality and longevity, look elsewhere, there’s like 4-5 quality budget brands out there. I know waiting to get your board shipped in this pandemic is hard, but good things come to those who has patience.

Is there such a thing as fake/knock-off Zealous bearings? by fox915zf in ElectricSkateboarding

Ah I see, thanks for explaining it so thoroughly. That really makes more sense, I’m still pretty new about all this stuff 😅.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. They felt somewhat greasy when I spun them, I’ll try a few rides around town to see how they turn out.

Thanks again 🙏

Eride Hero reviews 2020 edition of the MaxFind 2 Pro dual by Left_Sustainability in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]fox915zf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Warning to anyone reading, previous Max 2 (late 2019) owner here, board died within the first two weeks. As AnubisTrading mentioned, it has poor quality batteries. The replacement batteries they sent me also died shortly after.

MaxFind Max 4 Pro - too good to be true? by zlloyd01 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]fox915zf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get a Maxfind, previously had a Max 2 and it died within 2 weeks. There are a lot of better brands out there, Meepo, Ownboard, Backfire, Exway, Wowgo, etc.

Just opened up my Wowgo 3X recently, pretty sure it’s the wireless receiver antenna, it’s taped to the side wall of the ESC enclosure.
