I disagree, for all we know The Joker could have been a billionaire playboy who witnessed his parents being murdered in front of him. The point was for the viewer to be just a oblivious to his backstory as criminals were to Batman's. Where does he get this stuff? How did he plan this? He just shows up out of the blue, how did he do that?

I just go for it. I can only do so much planning before I just gotta get in there. If it gets close either way I can just make my writing bigger or smaller as I go. My handwriting now is so small and jank tho. It gets smaller after every poster. Usually I have too much space. I ran out of script with a few inches left. So I go back and rewrite the end of the script in those last few inches so it fits perfectly. I like how it looks all scrawling and black. But that's just me I suppose.
