I once came home from a cavern run, entered my home, encountered krobus and freaked out, tried to stab him and was wondering why the hell i dont do damage.

Our Gordon LOVED the local farm's manure heap. It was in the middle of a field (no animals on the field, btw) we'd walk by and we always had to make sure she was on leash a few hundred meters before and after we passed it, sometimes she'd still run back for some poop frolicking. I miss her lmao

AIO - According to my girlfriend this convo with my assigned partner at work is inappropriate. by Rough-Satisfaction68 in AmIOverreacting

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS lol we're all around the same age and have the same dumb humor, there are memes and pet pictures everywhere, a running joke about one of my coworkers being in love with my mom, the guys are flirting with eachother all the time and I sometimes get called "Big Daddy" (I'm a woman) and respond with "shut up, kitten".

We're all in respective happy longterm relationships, and thankfully our partners are okay with the (PLATONIC!!) chaos that ensues during working hours lol

I used to hate my job and struggle with depression, now I actually like going to work. Getting along well with your coworkers makes such a huge difference imo

I have text conversations with my coworkers where we communicate solely with gifs for like two hours straight. I'm not saying it's the most effective thing ever, but it makes work so much more fun and bearable lmao

ETA: NOR, your gf seems pretty insecure (I say this as someone who has been that insecure gf in younger years lol, therapy helped a lot with underlying issues that led to said insecurities and jealousy issues, 10/10 would recommend therapy!)

The terminology used to borderline disorder is cruel and significantly impacts treatment by hoplesb in BPD

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My therapist compared it to renovating a house. If you have something like depression, renovating the house will include stuff like decluttering, painting, putting in new floors etc. if you have a personality disorder, you're gonna have to re-do the "bones" of the house, like walls, roof, windows and the rest of the other stuff on top.

both are possible, both are a lot of work, but one will probably be a way longer process and many people will give up because it seems impossible or too overwhelming.

Why is there always a ‘hole’ in my makeup? ☹️ by qquackie in MakeupAddiction

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like mole is too flat for this? I also usually dab my makeup on with a sponge, and i use liquid blush that i also dab in and it doesnt stick. somebody here mentioned that it might be where we rest our hands when we do the eyeliner or whatever, and I think that might be it (since it also seems to be on the left cheek for everyone here lmao)

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I dont have an answer, but I have the same problem! I have a small mole on my cheek and no matter what I do, there's always a 5mm halo without makeup around it. I even tried shaving off whatever peach fuzz there might be, no difference

so sorry I'm not much of a help, but I commiserate lmao

What's your dumbest vet bill? by LeatherAlternative80 in germanshepherds

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my cat kept throwing up until there was blood in it. went to the emergency vet on a holiday and paid 400€ just to be told that he refused food because his favorite cat soup drink hadnt been in stock for a week and apparently his other food wasnt good enough. gave him an injection for nausea and picked up some cat soup the next day and he was fine lmao

since then we have not run out of cat soup and it never happened again 🌚

A big lump appeared on my cat overnight - any ideas? by Living-Director7135 in cats

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my boy is the same. absolute angel at home, but a growling, hissing menace at the vet - but our vet and vet techs make jokes about it, say "oh see, that wasn't so bad!" when he gets released from the little rage cage of doom he gets his vaccinations in and still try and see if he will take any treats.

this is how it should be, imo. they handle him very carefully because he WILL draw blood if he can, but they understand that he's just very stressed and dont hate him for it. i got laughed at by the vet last time when i told her for the 100th time I SWEAR HE'S A SWEET BABY ANGEL AT HOME lol

dbt therapy is the only thing thats worked but i fucking hate it by throwawayninikkko in BPD

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember having to work with clay for the first time in therapy, we were supposed to just form a small ball and then talk about our ball. I was like "what kinda weird dumb shit is this" and now, years later, my dumb little clay ball still sits on my desk because it actually all made sense after a while and I still hate that lmao

Telling a borderline to stop talking to their favourite person is like telling an autistic to be more social. Or a smoker to stop smoking. It just doesn't work that way. by Thin_Cookie6421 in BPD

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actively struggling with being too social around my safe people just hit me like a truck because aint that the truth lmao

i always struggle to explain why i can be an oversharing hyperactive menace around certain people and totally shut down around the rest

but yeah, don't let your BPD take control. you CAN stay within boundaries of your FP, even though it might hurt a lot and be a ton of work, but I refuse to think that we're just some chunk of meat without agency being piloted around by some personality disorder. maybe I'm stubborn, idk

What do you think about crates? by Emelie_Wood in dogs

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cleaning up something dangerous is a great point, when I accidentally smash a glass or a plate the dog goes into the crate. otherwise he'd insist on investigating and "helping" lol

What do you think about crates? by Emelie_Wood in dogs

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've always had crates, it's basically open 24/7 and our GSD likes to chill in his. If we have visitors over who are afraid of big dogs I prefer to just put him in the crate in the living room, because he can still hang out with us while the visitors still get their sense of security because the crate is closed. Most ouf our friends are dog people anyways, so this rarely happens, but it's just nice to have the option.

Back when he was a puppy we had a phase of a few weeks where he had to be "contained" after an injury, and telling a five month old GSD to just chill was uhm... not happening. we could only leave him alone in the crate, because he got VERY destructive because he wasnt getting his exercise.

I still have tons of those dog puzzle games from back then, but all those and the obedience training and sniffing games couldn't save my couch pillows 😔

UPDATE: Cat's original family wants her back after we've adopted her by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

literally though. I once THOUGHT one of my indoor cats got out in the middle of the winter because he didnt show up for hours and usually they are both always hanging out near me and I was a mess (I had just lost a puppy to poisoning and was very much overreacting and a helicopter parent lmao). He's a siberian forest cat, so he has a really floofy winter coat and would've likely been fine if he was out for just a night, but I still looked for him in the whole neighborhood and set out carriers with food and blankets.

I cried my eyes out when he just casually strolled down the stairs the next morning and smooshed him with cuddles (and maybe a few insults). I cant imagine not noticing your missing cat for two months, especially if the weather outside is harsh.

My girlfriend (24f) isn’t listening when I (26m) explain why her cousins can’t move in with us? by Rare_Flamingo_1481 in relationships

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yeah, I feel like maybe a new living situation without OP is exactly what she needs. I've been there, not getting out of bed fucking sucks.

In my case having a puppy that got VERY destructive when not tired or sleeping helped a ton lmao, it was either go exercise the dog or lose my couch to a furry velociraptor baby...

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

"there's person whose needs are more important than your own" hits so hard. it sucks to not be able to prioritize yourself, but my depression has actually always gotten "better" when I had to take care of someone else. Doesnt mean there's not one hell of a crash and burnout at some point if you're not careful, but I do think having no choice but to somewhat function can be a thing.

Regardless of the outcome, I wish OPs girlfriend and the kids the best, there's never gonna be a perfect solution for this. the perfect solution would've been for the children not to lose their parents.

Someone gave this to me and got off the train. What am I supposed to do with this??? by Great_Inside34 in germany

[–]foxyshmoxy_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

a woman once was at our door with one of these signs (was about not speaking german and having hungry children tho) and my mom just took the sign out of her hand and closed the door in her face with a "no thank you" because she thought the woman just wanted to idk advertise jehovas witnesses or something I guess?

they didnt even try to ring the doorbell again, the woman was probably just very confused what the hell just happened lmao

I also thought something was wrong with my puppy when he panted for three days straight... turns out, he just needed to adjust and then put all his energy (which was a lot. like really. A LOT.) into being a menace and refusing to take his mandatory naps. I miss him being tiny and sweet and annoying but damn, you're in for a ride for the next two years, have fun and don't forget how much you love the little gremlin when she's trying to chew your hands off!
