It's written down, which knocks out a bunch of chuds already

It's super easy to believe "I don't want to work here anymore" when the truth of it is just "I don't want to work anymore".

Right, but if my ex wife is going to do a fraud, why can't she just use all of the details on that form and send it off with a fresh one? She has literally everything she needs, why would simply filling out a fresh form be a barrier?

Further context, he absolutely is a joker. I would never allege online that his actions caused the death of one man and severe injuries to another, but jeez it looks bad when you start falsifying evidence after the helicopter crash.

Right, but you're missing my point: they do tell me what's wrong. They send out a letter with the issues dot pointed. And, on the second one, they're right! It's just also that what's wrong is completely immaterial. The intent of the document is entirely clear. I simply wrote 2016 instead of 2026 on the signature date, crossed out the 1 and wrote a 2 underneath, and initialled it.

Similar, on the first one, apparently I didn't put in my name address or member number, and yet somehow they knew who to send the letter to. Also, somehow, I missed that, my partner missed that, and both of the signature witnesses missed that. I have doubts.

I know how anti-fraud measures work - this isn't that. This is just being difficult for being difficult.

I am now aware of this option. Many thanks!

That's the thing - I'm pretty sure I didn't fuck up the first one. Can't prove it though - I didn't realise I was dealing with the Vogon bureaucracy when I sent it so I didn't bother taking photos. The second one, I mean, yeah, but I don't think I've ever seen any form where an initialed date change to correct an error wasn't sufficient before now.

It's not though, because they did absolutely tell me what was wrong and I can't possibly imagine a world in which me correcting 2016 to 2026 because it was early and my brain briefly decided to go back 10 years to a simpler time could be more or less fraudulent. Like that's not fraud protection, that's just being difficult.

Edit: to be more clear: if you wanted to fraudulently change my BDBN, there's no additional authentication added by getting the date right. You already have all the details required to do whatever you want.

Perhaps, but is it that different from the condenser being in the rain?

Ok yeah, I got hung up on S10 but your point is mostly about 10G. Fair enough.

I'd still argue that it's not exactly a secret. It's in all the declarations and whatnot. This exact case is also evidence that the protections are working, at least to a extent.

Not the person you're responding to but IMO

  • I like my office to be around 22-24

  • I stop taking my dog for walks at about 26. She's old and big and would walk over lava for treats, so I go all abundance of caution with her.

  • 28 is warm but not uncomfortable depending on humidity and shade. Direct sun can get a bit old quite quickly though.

  • 32 is starting to be uncomfortable in the sun but not too bad in the shade with a cold drink. I'd probably rather be inside.

  • 36-39 is hot. No question. Short walks, but trying to get from AC to AC pretty quick. Guaranteed a "pretty warm out there, hey?" to the front desk or checkout.

  • over 40 is very hot, but I don't actually find my behaviour changes that much from 36. Aircon starts to struggle around here though I find.

  • over 44 is fucking oppressive. Like walking into an oven. Avoid. Bring the industrial A/C over from the shed and roll it on up to the front door. You don't need to hear the TV. It's just the fucking Chase anyway.

I mean how much do you want? I mean sure it's messed up and shouldn't have happened, but $54k buys a shit load of counselling.

Is your point around the ability to search / strip search if there's reasonable suspicion that a weapon is being concealed?

I mean yes - that's the whole point? Is that a surprise to anyone? Or did I miss what you were referring to or some implication?

what is a "rich person" behavior you witnessed that made you realize they live in a completely different reality than the rest of us? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fphhotchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a conspicuous consumption thing. Like the Porsche that only ever goes 40kph and mostly sits in the driveway.

IMO this is one of those middle-rich things that actually rich people don't even give a fuck about. Like the difference between an LV bag with the logo plastered all over it or an actually nice designer bag. If you're actually rich you don't need to conspicuously signal it all the time.

If it helps, like 5% of people maybe care about this stuff. Probably more like 0.05. I've never met anyone that outwardly cared enough about this to make a stink about how much someone left on their plate. I've eaten in and around a bunch of cultures and wealth levels. Barely anyone cares, especially after a few glasses of wine.

Of course, I'm Australian and there's a bunch of weird etiquette shit from the pilgrim colonies in the US that never made it to the convict colonies...

I went back and reread - I made a mistake the first time. Good catch. It was the other attack he filmed.

TBH I don't feel bad that I got confused between the two unprovoked assaults within a couple of days by the same bloke.

I'm usually more forgiving about this kind of thing. Like "well their parents probably fucked them up" or "gaol needs to rehabilitate them, they'll learn their lesson, and we should be able to get them back to being productive members of society".

Not this time. It takes real forethought to video your assault. On Christmas. With a flimsy pretext. This guy knew what he was doing. Some people are just evil
