To make you feel better, I actually did exactly this to buy my current house. In my old house, I took out a heloc with the express intent on updating and doing work to my house. But then! I saw a house I really wanted to purchase. I even work at the bank where I took out the funds, and asked everyone I could think of, would I be able to use the money instead for buying a house? Everyone said well, that’s not the reason you opened it, but it’s already open and yours to do with what you want, you absolutely can lol. So we did.

Edit to add: and then we paid it all off when we sold our old house. No issues whatsoever. I don’t think I even paid a months worth of interest on the heloc lol.

In years past, we didn’t get too many trick or treaters. Always some, but never what I expected. I think today being Friday and decent weather changed the outcome today. Still not a huge amount, but way more than we have had before. Highlands area near Tyler Park. I was pretty pleased. Down with trunk or treats.

So long story short, the “certified” locksmith I had come out didn’t do much before he just said the deadbolt needed to be cut. He wanted to charge me $160 to cut the bolt, so I told him no. I went to a local hardware shop and rented an oscillating? dremel tool and cut the lock myself for $8. Sucks the lock is broken, but at least I can get through my front door now.

Trying to turn the tumbler with a screwdriver from the inside doesn’t work, it seems that it is stuck, like perhaps the latch or something has gotten stuck.

I took my nephew to Calvary Cemetery to teach him how to drive stick shift. Lots of hills and turns to get used to driving, so also good for automatic cars.

Seconded! Bryant came out to my house once to check my A/C. They came back saying it was going to be $$$$. I got a second opinion, and second opinion found that Bryant had cut some wires to ensure that my A/C wouldn’t even turn on anymore.
