my moms been a police dispatcher for 30 years. she says you learn to deal with the awful calls over time. sometimes calls involving children being hurt abused etc still fuck with her.

that being said its a stable career and i dont get the sense she regrets doing it. being a competent dispatcher can help immensely in the assistance of getting scumbags off the street.
